Η DS Automobiles announced the launch of the availability of the re DS 7 in the Greek market. Being the first model of the DS Automobiles, the DS 7 was first introduced to the public in 2017 and its arrival a year later redefined the standards of comfort, luxury and technological excellence in the Premium C SUV Category. At the same time, it embodied the spirit of innovation in the best possible way, promoting the French savoir-faire, unparalleled luxury and aesthetic excellence that are hallmarks of the brand DS.
In the second generation of the model, the new DS 7 comes with a new dynamic design, a plethora of new technologies and a fully electrified range, while keeping unchanged all the elements that made it stand out in the Greek market.
The new DS 7 combines high expertise with unique elegance and is characterised by unrivalled comfort and new electrified power units with up to 360 hp. Developed by DS PERFORMANCE, the new DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360 features a 360 hp plug-in hybrid system with an advanced all-wheel drive system, large-diameter wheels and brakes that support its dynamic profile.
DIMENSIONS - THE LARGEST IN THE C SUV PREMIUM CATEGORY
Positioned in the most popular segment (Premium C-SUV) with a share of 41.3%, the new DS 7 stands out with its impressive proportions. With a longer length of 4,593 mm, a longer wheelbase of 2,738 mm and a longer width of 1,906 mm than its competitors, it offers remarkable comfort to its passengers and ensures a smooth driving experience. In addition to having the largest luggage space, which remains unchanged in both its thermal and Plug-in Hybrid versions, the new DS 7 is the ideal proposal that meets the needs of even the most demanding customer.
NEW DYNAMIC EXTERNAL DESIGN
The new DS 7 is characterised by strong design lines and edges that emphasise its dynamic design and further enhance its sporty appearance. With the main design changes to be found at the front and rear of the body, the new DS 7 acquires its own design identity that differentiates it from its predecessor and sets it apart from its competition.
The slim LED headlights and the new impressive daytime running lights DS Light Veil, which are standard equipment on the model, blend harmoniously with the new DS-designed grille, while the DS Wings have been redesigned to enhance the overall dynamic appearance at the front of the vehicle.
Η DS Automobiles wanting to create an effect of depth and luminosity was inspired by her model models, DS X E-TENSE and DS AERO SPORT LOUNGE and designed the day lights DS Light Veil, creating the optical illusion of light emerging from the bodywork. The creation of the DS Light Veil is another demonstration of French expertise as the surface of the daytime running lights is painted in the body colour and then the vertical stripes from which the light emerges are laser-etched.
The updated lighting signature is completed by 3D design LED tail lights with dynamic turn signals. The LED tail lights are framed by a dark metallic finish and are "joined" in design with the "DS AUTOMOBILES" signature adorning the luggage compartment door. This new signature uses a special technique where the letters are made of stainless steel and then cut and placed one by one creating an embossed effect.
INTERIOR DESIGN - FOCUS ON COMFORT & LUXURY
The new DS 7 promises to make every journey special and every trip unique, offering a choice of 5 interior trims that aim to highlight the driver's personal style and create a unique driving experience of unsurpassed comfort and luxury.
From the harmony of the Bronze Harmony interior, to the dynamic character of Alcantara Noir and the unparalleled luxury of Nappa leather, in the interior trim of the new DS 7, particular emphasis was placed on the choice of materials and their processing techniques.
As with all DS models, the luxurious materials are brought out through the refined techniques that have become a hallmark of the DS brand. DS Automobiles (the pearl stitching, which owes its name to the pearl-shaped stitching patterns, the "Clous de Paris" style found in fine watchmaking and the "bracelet" style in the Nappa leather of the Opera interior).
Inside the Rivoli & Opera versions, the driver will find the B.R.M R180 chronograph, which was designed in collaboration with B.R.M, exclusively for DS Automobiles, ideally combines technology with luxury and elegant design and is transported to the new DS 7.
TECHNOLOGY AT THE CENTRE
One of the key technological innovations of the re DS 7, is the new DS IRIS SYSTEM infotainment system, which is intuitive, ergonomic, fully customisable, offers 3D navigation and includes a personal assistant, the IRIS, which communicates with the driver intuitively by touch, and/or by natural speech. In addition, the new infotainment system comes with a wireless Mirror Screen function (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay).
The functions of the new infotainment system are supported by the redesigned 12″ high-resolution touchscreen, which features a menu made up of widgets and guarantees easy access to all the vehicle's key functions. The 12" instrument panel has also been redesigned, with the driver being able to personalise its contents and have all the essential driving information immediately available to him.
In addition to the new DS IRIS SYSTEM, at new DS 7 we find technological innovations in both the standard and optional equipment of the model, some of which are exclusive to the Premium C SUV segment:
- DS NIGHT VISION: An infrared camera mounted on the vehicle's grille detects pedestrians and animals at a distance of 50 cm to 100 m at night and in poor lighting conditions. The driver is informed of the impending danger on the digital instrument panel, enabling him to react in time.
- DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION: Electronically controlled suspension that "scans" the road surface and adjusts itself. With a camera, four active sensors and three accelerometers, the system DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION uses the real-time information received from the camera and independently adjusts the suspension on each wheel at the right time, improving the comfort level and ensuring a unique and relaxed driving experience
- DS PIXEL LED VISION 3.0: The 3rd generation DS PIXEL LED VISION headlamps adapt the lighting to the external driving conditions, while the cornering light function ensures direct illumination in corners and improved visibility. In addition, thanks to the PIXEL function, the driver can drive with the large staircase without disturbing those ahead and passing drivers. With the new headlamps, the beam is more powerful, with a range that has been increased to 380 metres, and at speeds of less than 50km/h, the beam width is now 65 metres.
- DS DRIVER ATTENTION MONITORING: An innovative technology which is transferred to the new DS 7 from its predecessor and exclusive to the C SUV Premium class, is the DS Driver Attention Monitoring which analyses the driver's level of attention with two cameras. The first monitors the car's behaviour in its surroundings and the second, positioned directly opposite the driver, analyses the driver's gaze, facial movement and eyelid movement to detect signs of fatigue.
ENGINES - TECHNOLOGIES E–TENSE
The technology E-TENSE of DS emerged through the struggles of Formula E, winning world titles in the manufacturers' and drivers' championships and is now available in all vehicles of the DS Automobiles. At new DS 7, DS Automobiles has chosen to offer a wide range of PLUG-IN E-TENSE hybrid powertrains with 225, 300 and 360 hp.
The DS 7 E-TENSE 225 features a 180bhp PureTech petrol engine and a 110bhp electric motor, with two-wheel drive with a maximum combined power of 225bhp and a total torque of 360Nm. The DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 300 and DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360 with all-wheel drive combine a 200 hp PureTech petrol engine and 110 and 112 hp electric motors on each of the 2 drive axles.
A new 14.2 kWh battery offers up to 65 kilometres of zero-emission range in the mixed cycle and up to 81 kilometres of range in the urban cycle.
The DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360 has been curated by DS PERFORMANCE, which has ensured the optimisation of energy management, successfully combining efficiency with high performance. The DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360 has the application DS ENERGY COACH that supports the driver by improving energy recovery during braking. The vehicle's chassis is lowered by 15 mm, the track is wider (+24 mm front, +10 mm rear) and the front brakes have a diameter of 380 mm with calipers of DS PERFORMANCE. Exclusive to the model, the 21" BROOKLYN alloy wheels are available as standard equipment, which differentiate it significantly and further emphasize its racing origins. In addition, the 0-100km/h acceleration is achieved in just 5.6 seconds and is the ultimate proof that the DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360 comes from DS Automobiles' Formula E racing experience.
The range of the new DS 7 is completed by the efficient 130 BlueHDi engine with EAT8 automatic transmission.
