A few days after being crowned European Car of the Year 2022, the award-winning Kia EV6 won the overall victory at the prestigious Red Dot 2022 Design Awards. The 50-member expert jury of the prestigious international design competition awarded the EV6 the "Red Dot: Best of the Best" for its pioneering and innovative design. The all-electric crossover was also named winner in the category Red Dot: "Innovative Products".
As Kia's first all-electric vehicle, the EV6 symbolises the brand's new direction as it becomes a leading provider of sustainable mobility solutions. The groundbreaking electric crossover was created in line with Kia's new "Opposites United" design philosophy, which guarantees a strong visual identity with contrasting combinations of sharp stylistic elements and sculptural shapes. The EV6 is also the first Kia to be based on the company's advanced Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This innovative platform has enabled the EV6 to offer one of the most spacious interiors in its class, a range of up to 528km and 800-volt ultra-fast charging technology that allows the vehicle to charge from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes.

The EV6 continues Kia's impressive success in the Red Dot Awards since 2009, when the Kia Soul became the first vehicle from a Korean brand to receive the award and a total of 27 Kia models have been awarded the coveted Red Dot award. The EV6 is also the sixth Kia model to receive the Red Dot "Best of the Best" award.
The Kia EV6 has been extremely well received since its launch last year. In addition to the Red Dot and European Car of the Year 2022 awards, the electric crossover also won "German Car of the Year 2022" in the Premium category, "Irish Car of the Year 2022", "What Car? Car of the Year 2022 in the UK", "Crossover of the Year" at the TopGear.com Awards 2021 and at the inaugural awards, "Best Cars of the Year" 2021/22.
Red Dot Award: an international jury of experts evaluates more than just aesthetics
The Red Dot Design Award is one of the largest design competitions in the world. It is announced annually by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen and is divided into three categories: Product Design, Brand & Communication Design and Design. The history of the traditional "Red Dot Award: Product Design" dates back to 1955.This year's entries were judged by an international jury of 50 independent designers, design professors and renowned journalists. In addition to aesthetics, the product design competition also evaluates areas such as functionality, ergonomics, quality and ecological compatibility.
