She, is not a story like any other. It has the charm, the romance and the passion of five friends who were spotted in a forest a abandoned VW, for close to half a century. And the power of perseverance, since these five people managed to "resurrect" it, by starting it up in the woods and returning home with it, in September 2016!!!
H AirMapp & Serial Combi, presents us with an amazing short film (see the stumble at the end of the story), entitled "Resurrection” (“Resurrection"), starring an abandoned VW van (VW Transporter) of 1955. To VW, it was abandoned deep in a valley in the French Alps for at least 40 years. Against the force of nature and time, which had enveloped it, trying to eat its carcass with rustthe heroes of our history, managed to make the "restoration" of mechanical parts in the woods. In fact, when they started it up for the first time in 40 years they led it until they got it out of the forest, where they even had to cut down a huge trunk in order to create a path for the VW background!

Its production continued until 1967, when the second generation was introduced. When they spotted the abandoned van, during a trip to the forest, they started the quest for the identification of the original owner. They found him, and were as surprised as he was, since he didn't even remember that he had the van in his name, let alone that he'd left it there. As you can imagine, when he was offered a sum of money to buy itthe owner felt that he got a... lottery ticketafter money came out of nowhere. But they felt it. more, since the rotten VW Microbus is extremely rare - therefore collectible.
Initially, they had decided to tow it with a tractor. In fact, they even had the entire towing mechanism installed to make it happen. That is, until they got the bright idea to... take the mountain to Muhammad. to carry the new parts into the forest and to the repair on the spot that sat abandoned and rotting for 40 long years.
The repair in the forest, as you can imagine, took a lot of work and patience. Not only because it's difficult to repair a car that's been had "died" 40 years ago. But also because the heroes (well, since that's what they are) had to do "home" the forest and face the elements (rain, heat, etc.), as well as the... creatures that had taken over VW, like spiders.
Eventually, the group of five persistent friends managed to bring the legendary van back to life, but also to drive it out of the woods with his own engine with what little power it has. Not that they are finished. Now, it's going to take a lot of time and work free from rust and decay and regain its former glory.
