Setting a new industry record, Ford Pro achieved the highest sales in the commercial vehicle segment in Europe in 2022, marking the eighth consecutive year of Ford's market leadership.
Ford Pro, Ford's commercial vehicle and services business, recorded a total market share of 15.0% in 2022 - its highest ever - but also recorded year-on-year market share growth in 11 countries: UK, Germany, France, Germany, Italy, Italy, Spain, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden and Turkey.
"Achieving a new record of leading market position in Europe for eight consecutive years demonstrates how much commercial vehicle customers rely on Ford vans and pickups for business performance. As we roll out our unique software, charging and service platform across Europe, we are determined to ensure that Ford Pro remains our customers' trusted productivity partner," said Hans Schep, general manager, Ford Pro, Europe.
The spearhead for this success was the Ford Transit Custom, which last year was again the best-selling van in the 1-tonne category in Europe. The Transit Custom was also the best-selling vehicle overall in the UK, where Ford continues to lead for 57 consecutive years. Ford Pro last year launched the all-electric E-Transit Custom, the electric successor to the model.
As part of the development and introduction of new products and services, Ford Pro launched in spring 2022 the all-electric E-Transit van, which has led the monthly sales in the 2-tonne electric van category since last June. Ford Pro also unveiled its integrated software, charging, maintenance and financing platform, which is specifically designed to accelerate productivity and sustainability for businesses of all sizes across Europe.
In 2022, the company unveiled the brand new Ford Ranger, which reinforced the model's leading position in the segment and marked eight consecutive years as Europe's most popular pick-up.
