The 41st re-enactment edition of the “1000 Miglia”, the celebrated regularity race for classic cars, commenced yesterday, June 13th, in Brescia, marking the beginning of a journey that will circle back to its point of origin on the 17th. This journey will take participants and their prized vintage vehicles through some of Italy’s most picturesque locations. This year’s event has attracted more than 400 exquisite vintage cars, including 47 entries from the iconic Alfa Romeo brand.

The line-up boasts three notable models from the brand’s corporate collection, typically exhibited at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese: the 1900 Super Sport and the 2000 Sportiva, both from 1954, and the 1900 Super Sprint (1956). These heritage pieces are entrusted to exceptional teams: Marius Pop and Virgiliu Andone will drive the 1900 Sport Spider, Tom Wlaschiha and Nina Maria Weizenecker will handle the 2000 Sportiva, while Lorenzo Quaglia and Giovanni Giuseppe Savini will pilot the 1900 Super Sprint.

The three vehicles, extraordinary moving works of art, are part of the Heritage collection, a division of Stellantis aimed at preserving and promoting the historic heritage of Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia and Abarth, encompassing over 600 vintage models. The 1900 Sport Spider, 2000 Sportiva, and 1900 Super Sprint, race numbers “289”, “296” and “392” respectively, promise to be exceptional competitors in the race.

This event, steeped in history, acts as a vital link between past and present values, highlighted this year by three significant anniversaries for the Alfa Romeo brand: a decade of the Alfa Romeo 4C, 60 years of Autodelta, and a century of the Quadrifoglio emblem. The event is further boosted by Alfa Romeo’s deployment of several units of the latest Giulia “Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario” to support its vintage models.

The Quadrifoglio, symbolizing Alfa Romeo’s top-performance feats, celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Commemorating this, Alfa Romeo presents the Giulia and Stelvio “Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario”, limited editions with their unique mechanical and aesthetic attributes, available in only 100 units per model.

The event not only honors a rich past but also highlights current successes, like the Giulia and Stelvio supporting the Tonale, as Alfa Romeo has seen a threefold increase in registrations in Italy in the first five months of 2023 compared to 2022.
