Dog to Renault, dog to the environment!

As part of its support for the Vikos Street Relays, Renault, starting with the race in the city of Ioannina on Saturday 10 June, combines the love of sport with the love of the environment and economical driving.

The Vikos Street Relays have been distinguished both for their athletic character and for their social face. Renault, by supporting this special event for the second year, is making its mark as a company with a totally human-centred character, which is also emphasised through its Passion for Life signature.

Renault, through its long involvement with Formula 1, has developed a range of technologies designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, offering high performance with the lowest possible environmental footprint. Starting with the Vicos Street Relays race to be held in the beautiful city of Ioannina on Saturday 10 June, Renault is launching a different kind of fuel economy competition to highlight the benefits of good driving.

The Renault ECO2 Challenge is aimed at all those who will be participating as runners in the race and invites them to drive the new Renault models around the city's Castle - exactly on the route they will be running - while achieving minimum fuel consumption. Competitors will be supported by both Renault's efficient petrol and diesel engines and the company's advanced ECO2 system, which in addition to reducing fuel consumption provides real-time information and advice to help drivers improve their driving.

Starting from the Du Lac Hotel where on Friday 9 June registration for the race will take place, from 14:30 to 19:00, athletes will be able to take part in this special competition while doing a first reconnaissance of the route they will run the next day. Based on the consumption they achieve and the score given by the ECO2 system on the R-Link2 screen, the winner of the 1st Renault ECO2 Challenge will be declared, who will also receive a special surprise from the new Renault MEGANE.
