The new Ford Tourneo Connect multi-purpose vehicle became the latest model to receive the highest 5-star rating from the independent Euro NCAP. The maximum safety rating is announced as production begins on the Tourneo Connect, which offers a customisable and spacious cabin with seating for up to seven passengers and a choice of two body length versions, along with a range of trim levels including Active, Titanium and Sport. First deliveries to customers are due to start in the spring.
The all-new Ford Tourneo Connect earned ratings of 84% and 82% in adult and child protection respectively, including the model's top performance in side barrier crash tests. The independent safety body also praised the Tourneo Connect's driver assistance features, which include Driver Alert and Lane-Keeping System and Pre-Collision Assist autonomous braking system. "Family car buyers immediately appreciate safety, and we believe no customer should think twice about whether Ford is looking after them," said Stuart Southgate, director, Safety Engineering, Ford of Europe. Designed to support an active lifestyle, small businesses and customers who use it for both of these reasons, the all-new Tourneo Connect offers a second and third row of seats that can be folded or removed - and a passenger seat that folds down to create a flat surface - to create a spacious cargo area up to 3 metres long for the safe transport of leisure or work-related equipment.
