Behold the SUV of the year!

Is beauty enough for a car to be successful? Certainly not. Particularly when we are talking about a performance SUV, which "carries" a heavy brand, there are many factors that will determine its acceptance and, consequently, its success. Alfa Romeo knew this and that's why they put all their art into their first SUV, the Stelvio. And the recognition, came instantly.

Today, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio receives the title "SUV of the Year 2018" from the German magazine Auto Zeitung. The Italian brand's model won out over 10 other high-performance SUVs thanks to its state-of-the-art technology and unique driving character.

The four-leaf clover (Quadrifoglio) badge, which is placed on the top versions of Alfa Romeo models, in this case is supported by the bi-turbo V6 petrol engine of 2.9 litres, 510 hp, which accelerates the Stelvio from standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, while giving it a top speed of 283 km/h.

The Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio is equipped with advanced technologies such as the Q4 all-wheel drive system, the AlfaTM Active Torque Vectoring torque management system, the AlfaTM Active Suspension active suspension, and the Chassis Domain Control (CDC) system that coordinates all the car's electronic systems for optimum performance. This leading technological excellence formed the basis for the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio to set a new record on the legendary Nürburgring circuit, making the Alfa Romeo model the fastest SUV in its class.
