Iaveris Junior returns to the Acropolis Rally!

After an absence of 10 years, "Iaveris Junior" returns to the racing action by participating in the Seajets Rally Acropolis 2016, in which he will share with Spyros Koltsidas a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, with the sponsorship of Cosmote, Nobacco and Valvoline!

With a simple but full of emotion event held in Kryoneri, Attica on Thursday 21 April, "Iaveris Junior" announced to the media his upcoming participation in the Seajets Acropolis Rally 2016!

The name "Iaveris" is associated in the minds of the fans with the Acropolis Rally for more than 4 decades, thanks to the participation and the top performances of "Iaveris", aka Tasos Markouizos, in the late 70s. The story continues and despite the difficulties, both personal and racing, the start of the 2016 Seajets Acropolis Rally will see "Iaveris Junior", aka Konstantinos Markouizos, at the start of the 2016 Seajets Rally, in his return to racing after a decade.

"Iaveris Junior", will return to the racing scene by participating in the Seajets Rally Acropolis 2016, which will be held on 6-8 May, focusing on Lamia. Next to the Champion of the F3 category for the years 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 will be Spyros Koltsidas, with whom they have successfully collaborated in the past, winning the title in 2005. The car that the crew will use will be a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, prepared by "Sotirhos Motorsport", a racing team headed by Lefteris Sotirhos. The participation of "Iaveris Junior" in this year's Acropolis Rally could be described as significant, since the focus of our national race returns this year, also after an absence of 10 years, to Lamia Fthiotida where it has experienced great success in the past.

The Seajets Rally Acropolis 2016 is of particular interest, since apart from its prestige as a race, it is the 3rd round of the European Rally Championship (ERC) which enjoys special coverage and visibility thanks to the presence of Eurosport. At the same time, it is the 2nd and 3rd round of the Panhellenic Rally Championship, with each day of racing counting separately, in terms of points, in the institution. The "Iaveris Junior"-Spyros Koltsidas, will be in the ranking of the race in the context of the European Championship, claiming the distinction against the top European drivers in the ERC2 category, that is for cars of Class N, as we knew it in the past.

The winning spirit that has always characterized Konstantinos was the trigger for this participation, as the daily battle he fights with his disease, as he is a terminal kidney patient, and the belief that he can, thanks to his previous participation in the races, to overcome any obstacle, greater or lesser difficulty, made him chase until the end his dream, which was the return to racing basketball and participation in a top race, such as the Acropolis Rally.

The start of the Seajets Rally Acropolis 2016 will take place on Friday 6 May at 18:00, in front of the statue of Leonidas in Thermopylae and the race will include two racing days and 12 special stages, which will be held on 7 and 8 May respectively, focusing on the Panhellenic Exhibition of Lamia.

In addition to the sponsors mentioned above, it is noted that the car will be equipped with Pirelli tyres, while the crew's racing equipment will be provided by Racing Star.
