Saith has been discharged from hospital and wants to run in the race after his violent accident today at the Russian Grand Prix.

"As you can see, I'm fine," said the Spaniard, who is keen to race on Sunday if the FIA doctors deem him fit. "My back and my neck are a bit sore from the accident, but I'm completely ready. Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow in perfect condition to try to race!"-that's definitely my intention," he added.

Saith lost control of his car at the exit of the 13th corner of the Sochi circuit in Russia during the third round of free practice due to loss of traction. The rear of the Toro Rosso car folded from braking and hit the left-hand wall before hitting the protective barriers at high speed. The fact that he couldn't communicate via radio froze his team but was spoiled by the crash. The medical crew rushed to the incident and found Sainz conscious and in good condition. The Spaniard was taken to hospital by helicopter for tests to determine if there was any injury . Toro Rosso racing team boss Franz Tost said that the telemetry data will be examined carefully and in detail to determine exactly what happened. Although the tyres were already worn but Carlos Sainz said to do two more laps; so the lower level of grip and combined with the fact that he had changed from the steering wheel settings the braking for the rear axle for more braking on the rear wheels made the car uncontrollable.

Saith is expected to undergo an FIA medical examination in Sochi on Sunday morning. These will determine whether he will be allowed to race in the Russian Grand Prix. If that happens he will start from the pit lane after failing to participate in qualifying.
