Nissan has revealed its next-generation compact light commercial vehicle (LCV), which it calls the Townstar. Available as an all-electric (except for the petrol version), this new addition to Nissan's LCV range is aimed at businesses and professionals looking to the future by accelerating the transition to electrification.

Showcasing Nissan's most comprehensive offering to date (in terms of technology) in the LCV segment, the all-new Townstar comes with a suite of 20+ technologies.

Building on the successful formula of the Nissan e-NV200, a pioneering model that is leading the way in the electric LCV market, the all-electric version of the all-new Townstar is optimised to meet the needs of professionals. With an enhanced 44kWh battery, advanced technology and low running costs, the electric Townstar offers an efficient, sustainable mobility solution.

"Offering two efficient powertrains, ergonomic design and unique technologies, the all-new Townstar is fully equipped to meet the ever-changing needs of customers," said Emmanuelle Serazin, Director of LCV & Corporate Sales, Nissan Europe.

"With stricter emission standards, restrictions on access to urban centres and an ever-increasing demand for last-mile deliveries, businesses large and small must find efficient and sustainable solutions to remain competitive and optimise their operations," said Emmanuelle.

Reliable options and efficient drive sets

Built for optimum performance and versatility in urban environments, the all-new Townstar has two powertrain versions in van and combi (passenger) configurations to meet the needs of businesses and professionals.

The 1.3-litre petrol engine version is fully compliant with the latest Euro 6d-Full emissions regulations and delivers 130 hp and 240 Nm of torque, offering both power and performance.

On the other hand, building on Nissan's wealth of expertise in electric LCVs, the all-electric, all-new Townstar will be equipped with a 44kWh battery and advanced technology. It combines intelligent energy management and efficient battery thermal cooling in an optimised package. The new van comes to exceed the range capabilities of the e-NV200 and will offer 245 Nm of torque and a range of 285km (pending Press Approval).

Spaciousness is one of the main features of the model

Cutting-edge, safety and entertainment technologies

Designed to integrate seamlessly into the professional's daily schedule, the all-new Townstar introduces 20+ function technology to Nissan's range of LCVs.

Ergonomic and simple design in line with Nissan standards

With a wide range of safety technologies and advanced driver assistance features such as Side Wind Assist and Trailer Sway Assist, the all-new Townstar offers a reassuring and confident experience behind the wheel. Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection and Assist, as well as Hands-Free Parking and Intelligent Cruise Control, put the Townstar at the forefront of the class.

Nissan is integrating the Around View Monitor (AVM) for the first time in the small truck segment, offering this cutting-edge technology. Using a combination of cameras, the system displays a 360-degree overview of the area around the vehicle, providing drivers with complete peace of mind when parking in tricky parts of the city.

Drivers of the all-electric, all-new Townstar will also enjoy the innovative ProPILOT advanced driver assistance system. Assisting motorists on the highway, this feature allows the vehicle to automatically slow to a full stop and accelerate following the vehicle ahead, as well as keep the vehicle in the center of the lane, even in a small curve.

Two 800 kg Europeans are easily loaded into the new Nissan van

Convenient connectivity features such as E-Call, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and wireless phone charging will be available on all trims from launch, with further enhanced Connected Services available from the launch of the all-electric version.

These connected services will be displayed via an 8-inch touchscreen, linked to a 10-inch digital instrument panel in front of the driver, in the all-electric, all-new Townstar.

Advanced internal and external design

Built on the Alliance CMF-C platform, the all-new Townstar has been created from the ground up with quality and functionality in mind. It will carry the new Nissan brand logo, being the first European model to feature it and the latest to be launched as part of the Nissan NEXT transformation plan, which prioritises sustainable growth and profitability across the company's global operations.

The all-new van version of the Townstar has been developed to perfectly meet the needs of customers such as SMEs looking for flexibility, convenience, space and cargo, combined with hands-free parking for the stressful city parking environment.

The combi version of the all-new Townstar can support numerous passengers, offering clever storage options of up to 775 litres. From the sophisticated seat and door trim to the modern finish of the centre console and dashboard, the new Townstar's cabin welcomes professionals with passenger car-like comfort.

The all-electric all-new Townstar will mirror aesthetic cues from the Ariya, including standard LED headlights and an aerodynamic front grille incorporating an intricate Kumiko pattern and a new V-motion design with daytime running lights.

Adaptable for every business

Available in versatile configurations, the all-new Townstar van is designed to be a reliable, comfortable and efficient mobility partner for companies and professionals.

Featuring a load space of up to 3.9 m3 with a swivel bulkhead, the new compact van can carry two Eurocars and up to 800 kg of cargo with ease, with a towing capacity of 1,500 kg.

The loading area has large sliding doors on the side to facilitate unloading. It also includes clever storage solutions and a dedicated space for office supplies.

Top 5-year warranty in the professional category

Nissan reaffirms its commitment to delivering quality and reliability, with owners across the company's range of LCVs benefiting from an industry-leading, pan-European 5-year or 160,000 km warranty, in addition to an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty.

The warranty includes mechanical and electrical components of the vehicle, painting and roadside assistance, providing comprehensive coverage for extra peace of mind for the professional.
