Why does the Type-R have three exhausts?

H Honda brought the new Civic Type-R and in Greece, presented it and, by common consent, it is the best Type-R ever made. Over the course of the past few days most, if not all, of the its technical data, but there is one thing that (still) makes a lot of people he wonders: Why this Japanese model has three exhaust tips? It is fully functional or serve only aestheticians purposes;

The two-liter model of Honda with the powerful turbocharged direct injection engine (320 HP at 6,500rpm, and maximum torque 400 Nm from 2.500rpm - 4.500rpm) and explosive performance (acceleration 0-100km/h in 5.7 seconds and Final speed 272km/h) "carries" high technology in every inch of it.

This is also the case with three, fully functional terminals, which are placed in the centre of the rear diffuser. But how do they work? The endings on each side release the exhaust fumes, while the home End of controls the sound of the engine. Η flow of exhaust gases has been increased through the export against 10% compared to the previous Type R, which reduces the return pressure within the system. To produce more dynamic sound during acceleration, the central terminal works as another export stream, resulting in 2dB increase compared to the previous model at the same speeds.

However, in the medium motor loads η πίεση at home απόληξη εξαγωγής γίνεται αρνητική, αντλώντας ατμοσφαιρικό αέρα. Αυτό βελτιώνει τα χαρακτηριστικά NVH εξαλείφοντας το βουητό που σε άλλη περίπτωση θα γινόταν αντιληπτό στην καμπίνα επιβατών.
