The safety that a car offers to its occupants in case of an unpleasant incident while driving certainly plays an important role in the choice of a car, especially when it is a family car. The 2021 Nissan Sentra, however, scores in one of the most important areas of a family car, the implementation of child seats.

The 2021 Nissan Sentra will be one of four, 2021-22 models that will receive a direct A rating on Cars.com's 2021 Car Seat Fit Report Card. The Car Seat Fit Report Card provides parents and guardians with key information on family vehicles that "best fit car seats for infants, toddlers and young children."

Cars.com's certified safety technicians for Lilliputian passengers evaluated 51 family vehicles this year. Calling the Nissan Sentra "an affordable, cost-friendly option for small families," the Cars.com editors wrote that "the Sentra's roomy back seat fit nicely with our new child car seats."

A recent Cars.com survey showed that 56% of parents have incorrectly fitted a car seat, while 84% of parents find some stage of the process frustrating. For a vehicle to earn an 'A' grade, it must be shown to have ample space for a child's seat, without affecting knee-height space for the driver or passenger. Vehicles shall also demonstrate that the Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) system is easy to find and use, with no adjustment problems.

"What gives us more value is that the other three vehicles that received high scores from Cars.com are larger vehicles," said Jared Haslam, vice president, Product and Services Planning, for Nissan in the U.S. and Canada. "Not all child seats fit all vehicles, and choosing the right child restraint system can be confusing. We appreciate Cars.com's attention to this important issue."
