The My BMW app offers a direct connection to the BMW world, is easy to install and use, and provides the user with unparalleled digitalisation in mobility. The app controls a wide range of functions such as door status and remote locking, activates the car's headlights, plans routes and enters destinations directly into the BMW navigation system.

For owners of pure electric or plug-in hybrid BMW vehicles, the app offers even more functions. The ability to check the current battery status and vehicle autonomy, search for the nearest charging station with information on the price and availability of charging points, and adjust the air conditioning during charging to ensure that the battery is at the ideal operating temperature when starting the vehicle. This means that it will be running at full capacity when the owner is ready to depart, while saving battery power for heating or cooling the cabin during driving.

Owners of conventional BMW vehicles can also benefit from the app, which allows them to check their car's current fuel level, calculate its range, locate nearby petrol stations and check whether the oil level is sufficient.

In the event of a breakdown or accident, the user can use the app to call BMW roadside assistance and automatically share important information about their vehicle with the support service.

The My BMW app also offers access to the latest BMW news and content via the "Explore" tab, as well as the ability to easily check the status of scheduled and emergency services. In the "Vehicle Status" section of the app, customers can quickly check if their car needs service and use the app to book a service appointment at an authorized BMW vehicle repair shop. Contactless vehicle delivery and collection is also available from selected service providers, which shortens the process to just a few minutes.

During the service process, customers receive a video recorded directly at the workshop via e-mail, SMS or in the My BMW app. The video includes a detailed quote for suggested additional service work, which they can approve with a single click. With the latest BMW Pay feature, customers can pay for service quickly and securely online.

Users can easily download software updates via the My BMW app. BMW Remote Software Update is the process of updating the software of a BMW vehicle via a wireless connection. This feature allows BMW vehicle owners to update their vehicle's software for free, without the need to visit a workshop.
