An all-new MINI John Cooper Works with a 6-speed manual transmission will complete the Bulldog Racing entry, and will race with the starting number #126 in the VT2-FWD class at this year's 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.
In addition, the crowd favourite race car, a red MINI John Cooper Works #112 from last year's 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (which celebrated its 50th anniversary), was systematically developed during the winter break at Nürburg and will start again in the SP3T class.
"On our way to becoming a fully electric brand, we are working very intensively on ideas for John Cooper Works models with an electric drivetrain. We are delighted that two MINI John Cooper Works race cars from Bulldog Racing are flying our flag at this 24-hour race at the Nürburgring," comments Stefanie Wurst, Head of the MINI brand, Stefanie Wurst.
Charlie Cooper (GBR), whose grandfather John Cooper invented the Mini Cooper in 1961, will make his 24-hour race debut, having already completed two NLS races in 2023. Prior to that, the Englishman had successfully qualified for the DMSB Permit Nordschleife. The rest of the driver line-up, as well as the technical details of the race cars, will be announced in the near future.
