The BMW Group is present at the IAA Mobility 2021 with a variety of driving pleasure, innovations for increased sustainability and innovative models for the urban mobility of tomorrow. Exhibits of the latest new models and presentations of technological innovations give visitors to the Salon - taking place for the first time at the company's headquarters in Munich, 7-12 September 2021 - an insight into luxury mobility in its current and future form.

At various locations around the Bavarian capital, the BMW Group will offer visitors active driving experiences, information about new developments and the opportunity to discuss the challenges of the future. The focus is on the company's ambitious sustainability goals. The BMW Group has announced that it will reduce CO2 emissions by more than 200 million tonnes by 2030. This will be achieved through changes in areas such as raw material extraction, production, the use phase of its vehicles and recycling. The goal is to reduce CO2 emissions from production by 80% by 2030 and to have almost ten million pure electric vehicles on the roads in the next decade. In addition, the company plans to reduce CO2 emissions per vehicle over its life cycle by at least a third.

The circular economy at the heart of the IAA Mobility 2021

BMW
Greater commitment to a circular economy and the associated lower consumption of resources will have a significant impact. That is why the BMW Group is making the circular economy the central theme of IAA Mobility 2021. With a holistic approach ["Re:think, Re:use, Re:duce & Re:cycle"], the company reveals how the use of primary raw materials can be drastically reduced in the cars of the future. To reduce resource consumption per vehicle, the proportion of secondary materials used must be significantly increased.

The BMW Group also takes a holistic approach to sustainability, and this means that social sustainability, material sourcing, supply chains and social responsibility, whether for society as a whole or for the Group's employees, are on its agenda.
