This scooter can be seen on Hyundai models

A new, prototype electric scooter has been unveiled by Hyundai Motor. The new scooter is based on the prototype unveiled at the 2017 Las Vegas tech show (CES) and is very likely to be seen in the brand's future urban commuting models. At first, the scooter has a 20-kilometer range and charges while we drive our car.

The new electric scooter features rear-wheel drive, a large lithium battery and stylish front and rear lights. Shifting the drive of the new 2019 model from the front to the rear wheel upgrades stability and safety by placing the weight closer to the rear. In addition, Group engineers have added front-wheel suspension to provide a smoother ride, even on rough surfaces.

Hyundai plans to offer first- and last-mile mobility by integrating the scooter into its future vehicles. When mounted on a vehicle, it is automatically charged using electricity generated while driving. This, that is, that we will probably see it in the... trunk of a future Hyundai model, is what Hyundai Motor Group Robotics Team Leader DongJin Hyun says: "It is a personal vehicle-mounted scooter that could be featured in future Hyundai Motor Group vehicles. We want to make our customers' lives as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The personal electric scooter also helps reduce traffic congestion and emissions in city centers."

The new version of the Hyundai Motor Group's electric scooter has a 10.5 Ah lithium battery. This allows the scooter to achieve a maximum speed of 20 km/h and is sufficient to power the scooter for about 20 km on a single charge.

The scooter is portable and weighs about 7.7 kg. Its unique and compact design with triple folding makes it lighter and more compact than any similar product. Further enhancing its ease of use, it features a digital display that shows battery status and speed, and for night riding the new scooter is equipped with two LED headlights at the front and two taillights at the rear.

The Group plans to install a renewable energy braking system in the future to increase the scooter's range by 7%. According to research data from consulting firm McKinsey & Company, the "Last Mile Mobility" market in the US, Europe and China is expected to grow to $500 billion by 2030.

The above video from Hyundai Motor Group shows the use of the electric scooter and highlights how our lives could change in the coming age of mobility.
