A Nissan GT-R for the track

Following the recent refresh of Nissan's legendary model for the Premium and NISMO versions, it's time for the Track version to make its debut at the New York Auto Show, from April 14 to 23.

As the third version in the model's range, the Track Edition occupies a unique position between the 'T' (Touring) and 'R' (Racing) sides of the GT-R 'equation'. Designed to offer a higher level of performance than the GT-R Premium, the GT-R Track Edition features elements from the iconic GT-R NISMO, although it retains the 570bhp (compared to the GT-R NISMO's 600bhp).

With a focus on performance, the new GT-R Track Edition features additional chassis reinforcements that give it greater rigidity than the Premium version. In addition, this version is equipped with advanced independent suspension at each wheel, specially tuned by NISMO, as well as NISMO-spec tires.

Other standard equipment includes a GT-R NISMO front apron, 20-inch NISMO alloy wheels, and a special carbon fibre rear spoiler. The Track Edition's interior features a unique combination of red and black, with high-end Recaro® seats.

The 'heart' of the GT-R Track Edition, the award-winning 3.8-litre, V6, 24-valve twin-turbo engine, hand-assembled by a TAKUMI, delivers 570PS at 6,800rpm and 633Nm of torque. This engine is the definition of TAKUMI's expertise and philosophy. Its improved performance, which is the result of more precise cylinder ignition-timing control and extra pressure from the turbochargers, allow the supercar to achieve superior acceleration in the engine's mid and upper rev range (3,200 rpm and above). The mechanical set-up is complemented by a perfectly tuned six-speed dual-clutch transmission, characterised by smoother shifts and less noise.

The engine sound of the GT-R Track Edition offers a perfect acoustic effect. This is supported by both the new titanium exhaust end pieces and the Active Sound Enhancement (ASE) system, which provide a unique driving experience.

The GT-R has always been seen as a supercar that gives its driver the ability to handle with "surgical" precision. Now in the Track version, it also offers maximum enjoyment in a race track environment !
