Mazda CX-80, the new Mazda flagship

Today, the brand new one with three rows of seats, Mazda CX-80, makes his European debut. After the release of the successful CX-60, the brand new Mazda CX-80 is the second of the new models for the European range of "Large Products" of the company. The new CX-80 is the most spacious car in Mazda's European range and will become the company's new flagship. In this latest evolution of the unique design approach Kodo Mazda, the designers have focused on the elegance and purity of a minimalist Japanese aesthetic, for the sake of which all unnecessary elements are removed. This is achieved through a unique approach "hands-on" of the designers and top craftsmen of the Mazda. The aim is to produce cars that can and are only made in Japan.

With a length of almost five metres and a wheelbase of over three metres, the Brand new Mazda CX-80 is longer, taller and has a significantly longer wheelbase than the popular CX-60. Combined with the two third row seats, which, when not required for passenger transport, can be folded down to the floor of the car, the new CX-80 will be available with a choice of three configurations for the second row. These include the option of two separate seats for the second row of seats, which can be swivelled, either with a central console running the length of the cabin, or with "corridor".

The brand new Mazda CX-80 features technology suitable for the flagship of its European model range Mazda and includes three new features: a new Alexa voice control in the car, a new hybrid navigation system that combines the benefits of both offline and online services, and a new Trailer Hitch View that uses the center screen and advanced graphics to assist the driver when operating the vehicle, and a trailer in the back.

The new CX-80, initially, it is available with two powertrain options: the e-Skyactiv PHEV, which combines a four-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor, offering exciting performance with outstanding environmental credentials. Also available will be the highly efficient, six-cylinder in-line diesel unit e-Skyactiv D, featuring the mild M Hybrid Boost 48V hybrid system of Mazda. Thanks to this, the overall performance in terms of emissions and fuel economy is top-notch.

The e-Skyactiv PHEV has a combined output of 327 PS/241 kW and 500 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, has a top speed of 195 km/h and offers 60 km of all-electric driving. Offering excellent environmental credentials, it delivers WLTP average fuel consumption of 1.6 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of just 36 g/km. The e-Skyactiv D delivers 254 PS, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 8.4 seconds and displays a top speed of 219 km/h. Average WLTP fuel consumption is 5.7- 5.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions are 148- 151 g/km.

Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and the i-Activ all-wheel drive system from Mazda. Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) also offers a choice of four driving modes (plus EV mode for the PHEV), as already introduced in the CX-60. The platform that has been used in the new CX-80 features a double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension to ensure high levels of driving comfort, stability and ideal body control in every situation. The permanent four-wheel drive system defined as "rear biased" based torque distribution per axle, combines the stability and superior traction of AWD with the exceptional performance and flexibility of a modern system that sends drive to the rear axle wheels only. The all-new Mazda CX-80, it also has an impressive towing capacity of up to 2,500 kg.

The comprehensive range of i-Activsense advanced driver assistance systems in the re CX-80 aims for Euro NCAP 5-star safety. The new safety features that debut in the new CX-80 include, Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS) with a new software version in Unresponsive Driver Support and Smart Brake Support (SBS) with new Head-on Collision mitigation and Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK), with a new traffic avoidance system.

The orders for the brand new Mazda CX-80 will start in May.
