Η MG announced that it will be the central theme of the now legendary Central Feature, in Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024, celebrating in the best possible way, the centenary of the first appearance of the iconic automotive industry!

The long-awaited electric roadster Cyberster of MG, will be the central theme of Gerry Judah's masterpiece (sculpture) that every year presents something different, with the MG to take centre stage in front of Goodwood House for the first time.

The Cyberster due on the market next summer, is a new generation of performance car that marks an electric milestone in the history of the MG. Its central position at the world's most famous motoring event promises to be one of the most exciting moments in the centenary celebrations of the MG in the UK and beyond.

The Duke of Richmond, founder of the Festival of Speed, said: "After his world debut of the impressive Cyberster at the 2023 Festival of Speed, we are delighted that the MG are returning to Goodwood this year to celebrate their centenary in style with their first Central Feature. It's a fitting tribute to the first 100 years of one of Britain's oldest and most popular manufacturers, which has a long association with Goodwood. The MG was almost always present at the circus from 1948-1966 and before that, I must tell you that my grandfather ran with the team MG in the 1930s, winning the famous Double-Twelve Hour Race in Brooklands in 1931. He was fascinated by their light weight, simplicity and clever engineering - features that are still pillars of the brand today. Its 100-year history MG combined with innovation, is perfectly aligned with this year's theme "Horseless to Hybrid", which recognises the advances in technology and power that have shaped motorsport over the last 130 years."

Guy Pigounakis, Commercial Director of MG Motor UK, commented: "A hundred years ago, the MG pioneered the creation of the affordable sports car for the general public, turning dreams into reality for millions of enthusiasts around the world. We are still committed to this founding vision of creating, innovative and truly attractive cars for a large portion of buyers. The Cyberster underlines this commitment, as it's a roof-opening, high-performance electric model that we hope will have the same impact as its much-loved forerunners. The Festival of Speed 2024 is the perfect opportunity to celebrate our heritage in the domestic market, where the history of the MG, while providing a perfect platform from which to show the brand's dynamic future on the global automotive scene."To celebrate the cooperation of MG with the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Cyberster was joined outside Goodwood House by one of its most famous predecessors, a gorgeous Mk1 MGB Roadster 1964 with a 1.8 litre BMC engine. The two roadsters of the MG from different eras are going to play a prominent role in the Festival of Speed. Η MG will also return to the famous climb in 2024, and as time goes on and the event date approaches, the company will announce more official first model launches for Festival of Speed 2024 (FoS).

More details will be announced ahead of the event, which will take place at the Goodwood Estate, South Sussex, on the South Coast of England, from 11-14 July 2024. Tickets for the world's biggest car party are available from goodwood.com.
