Bold electric proposal in Segment A, from the Hyundai, which today presented its new urban all-electric model INSTER.

In particular, Hyundai Motor Company today held the World Premiere of pure electric vehicle INSTER at the Busan International Mobility Show 2024. The new A-Class electric vehicle (EV) offers class-leading range, advanced connectivity, versatility, cutting-edge technologies and unique design.

The bold design of the INSTER combines a futuristic, innovative design with a spacious interior in a small body. At the same time, a package of advanced technologies contributes to the safe and refined driving experience of the INSTER by also offering ultra fast charging and class-leading range (AER) of up to 355 km.

The INSTER is environmentally friendly while offering flexible driving dynamics and seamless connectivity. Its compact placement provides increased performance compared to larger models.

Bold exterior design and unique features

Based on the design heritage of the gasoline-powered CASPER that was only released in Korea introduced in 2021, the stylistic evolution of the INSTER rests on an extended body and wheelbase to offer greater interior space and a robust road presence.

With its enlarged dimensions, the INSTER is positioned exactly between the traditional city cars in class A and the larger models in class B offering the versatility and ease of use buyers expect with enhanced practicality and flexibility thanks to a more spacious interior and improved luggage capacity. Compared to larger models in the same class, the INSTER's compact dimensions make it ideal for city driving and enhance parking comfort.

The exterior design of the INSTER features a robust profile with clean surfaces, a high-tech aesthetic bumper and protective skirts that enhance the front and rear design of the car.

The personality of the INSTER is highlighted by the signature LED daytime running lights, the turn signals with graphic pixels, the rear light and the bumpers. Customers can further differentiate the car's appearance with LED headlights and a two-tone exterior with a black roof for contrast. 15-inch steel wheels, 15-inch alloy wheels or 17-inch alloy wheels will be offered depending on specifications.

Internal flexibility and advanced materials

Inside, the INSTER provides advanced technologies and comfort, thanks to a modern 10.25-inch high-tech digital instrument panel, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display with navigation and a wireless charging cradle that forms part of a compact centre console designed to create a greater sense of comfort and spaciousness.

The pixel theme is repeated inside, with the graphics on the INSTER's steering wheel further enhancing the car's high-tech image. The interior design also features customizable door trim options for customers who wish to further personalize their vehicle.

The modern and high-tech interior INSTER offers flexibility and space, with the front row seats providing very easy access. All seats can be folded down - including the driver's seat - for even greater flexibility. The second-row seats fold 50/50 and are sliding and reclining.

The exterior colour options of the INSTER include : Atlas White, Tomboy Khaki, Bijarim Khaki Matte and Unbleached Ivory, as well as many new shades such as : Sienna Orange Metallic, Aero Silver Matte, Dusk Blue Matte, Buttercream Yellow Pearl and Abyss Black Pearl. Some exterior color options will be available with a two-tone black roof offering more contrast. Interior trim options include Black, Khaki Brown and two-tone Newtro Beige with full cloth upholstery.

Both the exterior and interior use sustainable materials. The exterior of the INSTER features black glossy recycled paint, which replaces the black pigment traditionally used in black paint with a paint made from recycled waste tires. The interior uses recycled polyethylene (PET) materials from bottles and bio-polypropylene extracted from sugar cane.

Fast charging capability and class-leading range

INSTER excels for its DC charging speed and maximum autonomy, allowing customers to spend less time charging, travel more and make full use of the energy they have available.

Equipped with a 42 kWh battery in the basic version, the INSTER is also available with a 49 kWh battery. Both versions are powered by an engine that delivers 97ps (71.1 kW) in the base version and 115ps (84.5 kW) in the version with the larger battery. Both versions offer 147 Nm of torque.

 With a top range of 355 km (WLTP) on a single charge, the INSTER redefines what is possible from a small urban electric vehicle, providing impressive versatility with an estimated energy consumption of 15.3 kWh/100 km (WLTP).

When using a 120 kW DC high power charging station, the INSTER can charge by 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. The INSTER is also equipped with an 11 kW charger as standard equipment.

The external and internal Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function provides power for external devices (110V/220V), allowing two-way charging without the need for additional equipment. This enables customers to freely use or charge devices such as electric bicycles, scooters and camping equipment.

Advanced connectivity, cutting-edge technologies and comfort features

Along with the top autonomy and the excellent loading speed of, the INSTER offers a wealth of cutting-edge technologies, including a rich array of advanced safety and driver support features. The INSTER features a digital instrument panel and infotainment, 64-colour LED ambient lighting, a sunroof and Hyundai Digital Key 2 Touch (NFC).

Το INSTER θα κυκλοφορήσει στην αγορά της Κορέας αυτό το καλοκαίρι και αργότερα θα ακολουθήσει το λανσάρισμά του στην Ευρώπη, τη Μέση Ανατολή και την Ασία-Ειρηνικό.
