Honda Passport: off-road passport

Ένα σκληροτράχηλο όχημα εκτός δρόμου... αλλά μόνο για την αγορά των ΗΠΑ

Η Honda introduced the new Passport, a passport for off-road escapades and adventure. A tough off-road vehicle... but unfortunately only for the US market.

In particular, Honda is introducing the fourth generation of the Passport, the five-seat SUV developed specifically for the American market. The car, which will debut in dealerships in 2025, has been radically redesigned compared to the outgoing version following the trend of the segment and customer demands.

More off the road

The key element of the design is greater off-road capability, the Passport has become more robust and more aggressive both stylistically and technically. The suspension is now fitted with reinforced aluminium components and the rear multi-link has been redesigned, while space has been made in the car for a full-size spare wheel. The platform has also been changed; the wheelbase has been lengthened by 71 mm and the tracks are also wider, with the wheel arches able to accommodate 31" tyres on 18" wheels.

Two screens and a picnic table

The cabin retains Honda's classic streamlined approach, but there are modern features. The 10.2-inch digital gauges offer customizable graphics, while the infotainment is handled by a 12.4-inch screen with Google-developed software and a new TrailWatch camera package for off-road driving. In addition to improving luggage space capacity, Honda also decided to bring back an equipment item made famous in the past on theCR-V, the folding picnic table that doubles as a partition for the compartment.

New is the gearbox and all-wheel drive

The engine is an evolution of the previous V6 3.5 petrol atmospheric, now producing 285bhp, but the ten-speed automatic gearbox coupled with the revised i-VTM4 all-wheel drive, which can send up to 70% of torque to the rear axle, is new. For off-road enthusiasts, the all-new TrailSport Elite version has been developed at the top of the range.
