Herby the cockroach, sold for 86 thousand dollars

We knew him as the "Towbar". Ο Herby, a VW Beetle, who starred in film "My little tow bar, my love" of 1968, during which the car had... soul and character, was auctioned at the Bonhams, in New York. The (original) white VW with the number 53 on its doors and stripes, sold for $86,250.

Yeah, for this car, somebody paid $86,500. Okay, that's just taste.

Amount that makes it the most expensive VW Beetle ever sold. Because it outsold another 1955 beetle (convertible), sold last year at Amelia Island, for $82,500.. He was, he says, in excellent condition. This is what the madrassas see and take heart...
No, he didn't paint it blue and throw it overboard. It's a scene from the movie.

Why a man gave a shitload of money to buy a scarab, even if he was the original, the one in the Disney movie, I'll never be able to understand it...

However, for the money he gave, he was getting an easy ride on this scarab, which I prefer by far for a variety of reasons. (The photo from speedhunters )
