Antetokounmpo in a tie!

BMW M presents another exclusive, special, limited production version in the form of the new BMW M4 CS. The M4 CS is positioned between the M4 Coupe with Competition Package and the uncompromisingly racing BMW M4 GTS. With a strong sporting presence, the new M4 CS continues the decades-long tradition of successful special M models that began in 1988 with the E30 BMW M3 Evolution. The new BMW M4 CS will be built at BMW's first plant in Munich.

(combined cycle consumption: 8.4 l/100 km, CO2 emissions in the combined cycle: 197 g/km)

Also, with the M4 CS, BMW M launches a new nomenclature for its models. Above the standard M models will be the performance-enhanced Competition versions. One step up will be the special CS versions. At the top will be the maximum performance models, with a racing or sporty character, but with normal type approval for road use.

The high-performance three-litre engine increases the power of the M4 with Competition Package by 10 hp to 460 hp.Thanks to advanced M TwinPower Turbo technology, the M4 CS accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than four seconds, with the stopwatch stopping at 3.9 seconds. The top speed of the M4 CS, which features M Driver's Package as standard, is electronically limited to 280 km/h. With two single-intake turbochargers (mono-scroll), an air exchanger, High Precision Injection, VALVETRONIC variable valve timing and fully variable Double-VANOS camshaft timing, the six-cylinder in-line engine clearly aims for high performance, while generating rich torque from low revs and achieving high levels of efficiency (combined cycle consumption: 8.4 l/100 km, combined cycle CO2 emissions: 197 g/km).

The new BMW M4 CS comes as standard with the seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) with Drivelogic. The advanced transmission has an independent oil cooler and allows both automatic and mechanical gear changes with the steering wheel levers. Shifts are made in a fraction of a second without interrupting the power flow, while a long seventh gear keeps revs and fuel consumption low on long journeys.

The suspension of the new BMW M4 CS is very similar to that of the M4 with Competition Package. The front and rear axle links and struts are made of forged aluminium and are lightweight. This keeps the unsprung masses low to the benefit of roadholding as well. The M4 CS is fitted as standard with Adaptive M suspension whose geometry has been fine-tuned for optimised performance on the road and on the track. The new BMW M4 CS has been refined on the most demanding test track for high-performance sports cars: the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. A lap time of 7 minutes and 38 seconds places the CS in the super sports car category.

Optimum traction in all driving conditions is ensured by the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system - including M Dynamic Mode - and the Active M Differential. The Adaptive M, DSC and Active M Differential suspension control systems have been modified to meet the dynamic requirements of the BMW M4 CS, as has the set-up of the electromechanical steering system. The driver can adjust the steering and suspension programmes according to personal preferences or the requirements of the route. One of the three driving modes (Comfort, Sport and Sport+) can be selected at the touch of a button. While the Comfort mode is mainly offered for poor road conditions, city driving and short trips, Sport is suitable for ambitious drivers who 'push' the limit on winding country roads. For those who dream of driving the BMW M4 CS on the track, Sport+ mode offers the potential for blistering times. Sport+ prepares all relevant systems for optimum dynamic behaviour. If the driver shows excessive enthusiasm at the wheel, the DSC will intervene immediately. However, in M Dynamic Mode (MDM) it will allow controlled drifts (power over-revving).

For comfortable driving on the race track, the lightweight alloy wheels (front: 9 J x 19, rear: 10 J x 20) designed exclusively for the M4 CS in combination with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 standard tyres (front: 265/35 R 19, rear: 285/30 R 20) are ideal. These semi-slick single tyres, which are also type-approved for road use, offer unrivalled grip and excellent lateral stability at high speeds on the track, as well as optimum traction when exiting hairpin bends. The M4 CS is also available on request with Michelin Sport road tyres at no extra cost.

The interior of the new BMW M4 CS aims to create a sporty environment. Starting with the lightweight, sporty M seats with leather/Alcantara upholstery, the dynamic feel extends to the door panels made of compressed natural fibre with strap handles. The bonnet - with its distinctive vent behind the central intake - and roof are made of lightweight, extremely rigid and high-tech carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP).

The extensive use of leather and Alcantara creates an unbeatable sporty atmosphere. No driver of the M4 CS will have to forgo comfort and enjoyment. Standard equipment includes automatic climate control, a version of the BMW HiFi Professional system tailored to the audio requirements of the M4 CS and the Navigation Professional navigation system.

With a focus on the embossed forms, the designers at BMW M GmbH have given the new M4 CS a look that reflects the car's sporting intentions. An identity element of the striking front section alongside the advanced twin LED headlamps with cut-off edges is the front apron with large three-part air intakes. These supply plenty of cooling air to both the high-performance engine and the hard-wearing M synthetic brakes with four-piston calipers at the front and dual-piston calipers at the rear. The new, special front splitter is made of carbon fibre exclusively for the special M4 CS version. For improved aerodynamic performance, this works in conjunction with the rear diffuser - familiar from the BMW M4 GTS - and the also new Gurney-type carbon-fibre spoiler in the boot to reduce aerodynamic lift. Innovative tail lights with OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology launched by BMW M GmbH exclusively for the M4 CS and M4 GTS open up new horizons, while the front splitter, Gurney spoiler and rear diffuser, together with the long CFRP bonnet, elegant coupe roofline, sleek M exterior mirrors and muscular wheel arches, make up a highly dynamic silhouette for the BMW M4 CS even when stationary. The BMW M4 CS will be sold at a price of 116,900 Euros.
