The Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Super Sport take the sporting ideal that the brand has consistently upheld since 1923 even further, with just 275 Giulia and 175 Stelvio to be built, ensuring the two models will be collector's items.
In total only 450 cars will be sold worldwide, of which 275 will be Giulia and 175 Stelvio. Their mission is none other than to continue the modern legend they have created through the unparalleled experience they offer the driver. Their technology is state-of-the-art in every area, as evidenced by, among other things, the use of carbon fibre on the central transmission axle, the bonnet, the rear spoiler, the Giulia's roof and the sills. In addition, extensive use of aluminium has been made on the engine and suspension in order to keep weight low and to ensure optimum distribution.
For differentiation, the Super Sport range is adorned with a green four-leaf clover on a black rather than white background, with additional carbon fibre-finished mirror caps, darker wheels - 19" for the Giulia and 21" for the Stelvio - and black brake calipers. The icing on the cake is of course the standard Akrapovič exhausts that not only ensure the aesthetic but also the acoustic differentiation of this particular version.
The cabin
In the cabin, what stands out are the red 3D-printed carbon-fibre inserts on the dashboard, centre console and doors, as well as the red "Super Sport" logo on the front seat headrests. Just below it is the serial number of each car.
The Stelvio Super Sport is available in Rosso Etna red triple-coat paint as well as metallic black Nero Vulcano, while for the Giulia, white Bianco Alfa is added to the palette. Collectible and as always thrilling to drive, the new special edition of the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Super Sport pays homage to the 1928 Mille Miglia victory achieved by the 6C 1500 Super Sport. Giuseppe Campari and Giulio Ramponi finished in first place, completing the 1,621 km marathon in 19 hours, 14 minutes and 5 seconds. This translates into an average speed of 84.128 km/h, an even more impressive figure given that the car's top speed was 155 km/h.
The Super Sport was the top-of-the-range version of the 6C 1500 and with a turbocharged "fixed-head" engine it produced 84 HP, when the power output of the base 1,487 cc unit was 44 HP. A total of six cars started the 2nd Mille Miglia, with this victory inaugurating a record of 11 consecutive years that has never been broken.
