Η Volkswagen presented a special model at the Exhibition
Shanghai Motor Show in China. The ID.6, an all-electric SUV is designed specifically for the
requirements of the local market and will be available in two versions: the ID.6 CROZZ Manufactured
in eastern China, near Shanghai and the ID.6 X in the central part of the country. In both
cases, can accommodate up to seven people. The ID.6 is the spearhead in the full frontal
strategy of Volkswagen to become the most popular brand for sustainable mobility in China.
"With the
new ID.6,
we are laying the foundation for at least the 50% of our cars sold
in China to be electric by 2030," said the Ralf Brandstätter, Managing Director of Volkswagen. "By 2023, the Volkswagen will have launched a total of eight ID. models in China,
making available the MEB throughout the territory. The economies of scale that
we have achieved allow us to offer the most modern technology in
affordable price - and thus intensify our electrical offensive."
Such as
and the smaller ones ID.3 and ID.4, the third member of the all-electric family is also based on the
modular platform for electromobility (MEV). The 4.68-meter ID.6 (+30 cm in
compared to the ID.4), has comfortable seating for up to seven passengers and is specially designed for
tailored to the needs and wishes of Chinese customers, in terms of
functionality and design: extensive use of atmospheric lighting in the
interior and material absolutely to the taste of the inhabitants of the vast country.
The ID.6 available in
four configurations, with power up to 225 kW (306 PS), while the systems IQ.Drive belong to the basic
of equipment. The two available batteries, under the passenger cabin,
have a net capacity of 58 kWh and 77 kWh, with a maximum range of 436 and 588 km.
respectively (China NEDC). Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 6.6 seconds.
seconds, with a top speed of 100 mph.
The ID.6 no physical buttons
and switches. The concept operation uses a 12-inch touch screen - and the "Hello ID" voice control. The
innovative ID.Light internally - a narrow strip of light under the windscreen - provides the driver with
guide intuitive support. A head–up augmented reality screen is available
as optional, which merges certain notifications with reality
- for example, the turn arrows from the navigation system are displayed in
distance in front of the vehicle, in the correct lane on the road. The big
panoramic glass roof is standard and optionally available as a
opening. The model will be able to be updated "via the air",
remaining modern and technologically advanced throughout its life cycle.
The ID.6 will be produced in the two
its factories Anting and the Foshang, in eastern and central China respectively, in two separate
its joint ventures Volkswagen with local partners. As part of the strategy ACCELERATE of the company, the ID.6 will
play an important role so that by 2030 at least the 50% of the
cars that the brand will sell in China will be electric, the same percentage as
the one for North America, while the one for Europe is planned
on the 70%.
