Η Maserati Levante, the Italian brand's first SUV is one of the most anticipated cars of the year. Not just because it's an SUV (let's not kid ourselves, SUVs sell like freshly baked, warm bread roll), nor because it's a Maserati. But also because, as our sources say, it will be a "sister" of one of Alfa Romeo's two SUVs.
Anyway, here at TopSpeed.gr we have shown... early spyshots of the Levante that will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. But, because some photos were leaked - albeit in low resolution - yesterday, Maserati decided to "react" by leaking official photos of the model and some (few) details about its engines and technical characteristics.
So, from the leak, we learn that the Levante will be launched initially with two engines petrol, 3 litre turbocharged V6 and a diesel, also 3 litre turbo V6. The Italians say that the Box of the Levante is designed to offer driving behaviour "synonymous with the brand", while characterizing "excellent" the off-road capabilities of the Levante, which will "wear" intelligent all-wheel drive system, eight-speed automatic transmission gearbox and electronically controlled suspension.
So the Levante looks good. For the price, don't ask, as no information is available yet.
