Nissan shapes the future of electrification with new range and technologies

Nissan

Nissan is firmly on course for a sustainable future and is strengthening its position in the European market with the launch of a new, "electrified" range of exciting models coming in late summer.

Leveraging its unrivalled expertise and leadership in electrification, Nissan is stepping on the gas to an electric future with the most exciting and comprehensive range of models to date.

Following the decision not to invest in Euro 7 for passenger cars, Nissan will not introduce any new pure internal combustion passenger cars in Europe from 2023. Taking bold steps to ensure it offers a new era of mobility, Nissan expects 75% of its sales mix on the Old Continent to be 'electrified' by 2026, with an ambition to reach 100% by the end of the decade.

This announcement plays a key role in the realisation of Ambition 2030, the company's long-term vision for empowering mobility and beyond.

"Nissan is heading towards an "electrified" future, with Europe leading the way. We have created a clear direction through Ambition 2030 and with our new 'electrified' range we are truly paving the way for a sustainable future," said Guillaume Cartier, President of Nissan AMIEO.

In addition to cars, Nissan is working on an integrated EV Energy Ecosystem, which is exploring initiatives to optimise and expand the energy management capabilities of batteries. Nissan's flagship ecosystem, the EV36Zero, based at its Sunderland plant in the UK, combines the production of vehicles and batteries powered by renewable energy sources, setting the stage for the future of vehicle production in the automotive industry.

By combining the EV36Zero with the new range of 'electrified' models in Europe, Nissan has truly turned a page, with a clear path to electrification and carbon neutrality.

An expanded range for an "electrified" future

Setting the benchmark for sustainable mobility, Nissan offers more choice, more excitement and more accessibility than ever before. With the introduction of hybrid technology in the Juke, e-POWER in the Qashqai and X-Trail, and the launch of the EV Ariya in late summer, 2022 marks the year when Nissan will offer electrification solutions that fully meet the needs of prospective buyers.

MOVING TOWARDS FULL ELECTRIFICATION WITHOUT COMPROMISE

As the electric revolution in cars gains momentum, Nissan is supporting drivers embarking on their journey to zero-emission mobility with an exciting range of electric crossovers. The mix of powertrains available in Nissan vehicles reflects the diversity of Nissan customers' driving habits.

JUKE Hybrid

The latest version of Nissan's compact crossover, the JUKE Hybrid, retains the familiar personality of the popular model and offers prospective buyers a complete "introduction" to the world of electrification. The JUKE Hybrid combines performance, driving pleasure and outstanding fuel efficiency to deliver an exciting and robust on-road experience.

The JUKE Hybrid brings prospective buyers a truly integrated electrified driving experience, with a multi-mode drivetrain and intelligent gearbox offering pure electric power, or a combination of power from the internal combustion engine and electric motor. Nissan's innovative e-Pedal Step system allows the driver to accelerate and decelerate the car at a slow "creep" speed (~5 km/h), improving comfort and convenience on the move.

All-new Qashqai e-POWER

Building on its heritage as the world's first crossover model, the all-new Qashqai elevates the crossover driving experience with Nissan's unique e-POWER engine technology.

Developed entirely by Nissan, the system offers the undeniable thrill of all-electric driving without the need for recharging. An electric motor powers the wheels for instantaneous and linear acceleration, while a small internal combustion engine recharges the battery on the move, offering even more confidence behind the wheel.

All-new X-Trail e-POWER

The all-new X-Trail takes a bold new approach as Nissan's most fearless family crossover vehicle, equipped with the brand's innovative e-POWER powertrain and e-4ORCE all-wheel control technology to cope with family adventures.

Electric performance and refinement are at the forefront of the new X-TRAIL's driver's experience, with the support of e-POWER. The ultimate in soundproofing and comfort is enhanced by the precision of the e-4ORCE all-wheel drive system, with two motors combining to deliver an exciting yet immersive driving experience.

THE FULL EXPERIENCE OF ELECTRIFICATION

Nissan LEAF

The world's first mass-produced EV, the LEAF, has revolutionised and set the bar for modern electric vehicles, with more than 577,000 cars sold worldwide and over 9 billion zero-emission kilometres driven by their owners since its launch in 2010.

Nissan has developed its wealth of electrification expertise with the LEAF, refining the successful formula to make EVs accessible to all.

Nissan Ariya

Marking a new chapter in Nissan's electrification journey, the Ariya is Nissan's first all-electric coupe-crossover and its flagship in electrification. It is the first vehicle to use the Nissan-developed CMF-EV intelligent platform, offering the ultimate electrification experience. It incorporates Nissan's Japanese DNA, offers dynamic driving performance and has one of the most spacious interiors in the segment.

Redefining all-electric driving, Ariya will also feature e-4ORCE, the perfect balance of power and control. The seamless power distribution of the dual-motor system provides instant response for effortless acceleration in various driving scenarios.

Nissan Townstar

As the next generation of Nissan's all-electric compact LCVs, the all-new Townstar is designed to be a reliable, efficient and sustainable business partner, optimised to meet the ever-changing needs of professionals and businesses.

The model is designed in the logic of a clever combination of efficiency and practicality. Featuring an all-electric powertrain that delivers a 300 km combined WLTP range, as well as a suite of 20+ technology features, the all-new Townstar is ideal for couriering goods around town, contributing to sustainable business operations and a successful transition to electrification in business travel.
