Three years after its launch, the PEUGEOT 208 - the brand's best-selling model - gets a new look. The attractive styling, which successfully combines elegant and sporty elements, is further accentuated by the new 3D LED rear lights included as standard on all versions. The new model is available in a new palette of metallic and matt colours, expanding the personalisation possibilities. The range is further enriched with the addition of the GT Line and GTi versions, while the comfort and safety equipment is complemented by new systems (such as Active City Brake, the SMEG Multimedia System with MirrorScreen function, the Park Assist system) making the driver's daily life easier. The new Peugeot 208 is equipped with PSA's new PureTech and BlueHDi engines which meet Euro6 emission standards, culminating in the 100 hp 1.6BlueHDi 100 hp diesel engine which consumes just 3 litres per 100 km and emits just 79 grams of CO2 per kilometre!
PEUGEOT 208: a key player in a strategic category
The new Peugeot 208 is the leader in the B segment, the most important category in the market, accounting for 45% of total registrations. Endowed with the great history of the 200 series with which PEUGEOT has been leading the way for years, production of the 1st generation PEUGEOT 208 has already exceeded 1,000,000 cars.
Attractive appearance that captivates the senses
From the very beginning of its commercial career, the PEUGEOT 208 has been a magnet thanks to its elegant and exuberant character that is in perfect harmony with the brand's values. Everything that highlighted the distinctive style of the PEUGEOT 208 remains unchanged and at the same time has been upgraded with improvements at points.
At the front, the bumper has been redesigned to emphasise the dynamic look, which is enhanced by the wider grille that extends downwards to emphasise the PEUGEOT badge. On the richer trim levels, the chrome finish on the new grille creates an exciting 3D image. The distinctive position of the fog lamps further emphasises the car's imposing image on the road.
The front end is highlighted by the new dual-tone headlamps (black and chrome) while the LEDs confirm the technological upgrade. At the rear, the headlamps with the new 3D LED elements, which form three characteristic claws, steal the show and illustrate PEUGEOT's contemporary aesthetic.
The compact profile with short body headlamps and the chrome outline around the windows has been retained to make an impression. The attractive image is complemented by the newly designed wheels, from 15" NIOBIUM to 17" CARBONE with matt or glossy tint on the PEUGEOT 208 GTi.
A quality interior built to thrill drivers
The interior of the new PEUGEOT 208 is dominated by the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit, an innovative layout of the instrument panel and controls that has delighted the public since its launch. In 2012, the PEUGEOT 208 introduced this original concept, which ensures optimal functionality, visibility and safety while driving, and has been adopted in the PEUGEOT 2008 and 308. The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit is distinguished by its compact steering wheel, raised instrument panel and a large 7" touchscreen.
The compact steering wheel goes hand in hand with the compact exterior dimensions of the new PEUGEOT 208 (less than 4 metres long), offering ultimate flexibility in urban commuting. The steering wheel features quality leather upholstery and the interior trim includes top-quality materials.
The raised instrument panel is ergonomically positioned to put every piece of information right in the driver's field of vision, without distracting the driver from the road for greater comfort and safety. It has a sleek design, soft white lighting and a central display providing all the useful information. In the top versions there are LED rings around the analogue instruments (blue in Allure versions, red in GTi).
The large 7'' touchscreen, which is standard from the second equipment level, provides direct and easy access to the operation of all systems (audio system, navigation, telephone, vehicle information). In addition, it offers the best on-board connectivity via Bluetooth and USB, while the MirrorScreen function reproduces the content of a smartphone on the car's screen for full control of applications.
The new PEUGEOT 208's high-quality interior design takes on a new dimension thanks to atmospheric interior lighting. The soft white lighting found on the instrument panel and the needles, as well as on the controls regardless of the version, creates a lounge environment, culminating in the LED range and blue lighting in the case of the panoramic roof.
New body paints that excite!
The range of colours and finishes (pastel, metallic, pearl, matt) available on the new PEUGEOT 208 is extended with new colours. Thanks to 13 new body colours, prospective customers have a choice of unique and exclusive combinations to choose from.
The new metallic Orange POWER is fresh, dynamic, youthful and inspires from the first glance. Finally, two new matt special texture options complete the colour palette.
Expanded range of publications
The PEUGEOT 208 stands out for its extensive range. The new GT Line version, which is available on various PEUGEOT models, offers customers a powerful, dynamic and sporty style combined with the existing engine sets in the range. Thanks to the GT Line version, the new PEUGEOT 208 features some of the styling elements found in the iconic and sporty GTi version. The GT Line version is available in 5-door bodywork with the 1.6 BlueHDi 100 diesel engine and has the following features:

Prominent in the range and in a prominent position is the 208 GTi version, which is powered by the 1.6 THP Euro6 engine with a power of 208 and a maximum torque of 300Nm, available in the range of 3,000-6,000 rpm. All of the above translates into a power-to-weight ratio of 5,58kg per horse. This impressive performance is achieved with an average fuel consumption of just 5.4L/100km and CO2 emissions only 125g/km.
Equipment with cutting-edge technology
The PEUGEOT 208 was one of the first cars in its class to cause a sensation with its advanced technological equipment and its wide connectivity, thanks to the large 7-inch touchscreen display which is featured in over 80% of cars sold so far. In addition, the new PEUGEOT 208 is one of the few models in its class to feature the full Park Assist system as an option. Plus, the new PEUGEOT 208 goes one step further by introducing two new systems: the Active City Brake and Reversing camera.
Park Assist - active parking assistance - calculates the dimensions of an available parking space and helps the driver manoeuvre into or out of it. The system takes control of the steering wheel, providing both audio and visual information.
The Active City Brake system (collision avoidance warning & braking function) prevents a collision with another vehicle or object if the driver fails to react in time. The system works in urban environments and at speeds of up to 30 km/h. A short-range sensor is mounted on the upper part of the windscreen and detects other vehicles ahead or stationary vehicles. In emergency situations, the system intervenes with the brakes and stops or minimises speed to prevent or reduce the consequences of a possible collision.
The reversing camera, which is optional from the second equipment level, uses the large colour screen to facilitate everyday manoeuvring while parking. The display shows the space behind the cars, while the imaginary colour lines indicate and assist in parking.
The function MirrorScreen allows the user to play the screen content of a smartphone device - compatible with Mirrorlink®[1] or Carplay®[2] - and display it on the car's touchscreen for easy access to apps. This feature combines all the benefits and the use of apps in a completely secure way.
While driving, the driver has access to relevant applications (navigation, multimedia, internet radio, etc.).
New efficient engines with CO2 emissions from 79 g/km, a world record!
The PEUGEOT 208 continues to set the performance standard with a wide range of petrol and diesel engines that blend seamlessly with the top-of-the-range - in terms of comfort, driving pleasure and safety - chassis. The latest generation of Euro 6 engines combines incredibly low fuel consumption with respect for the environment thanks to low emissions. For relaxed city driving, the new PEUGEOT 208 offers the new 6-speed EAT6 (Efficient Automatic Transmission) automatic transmission.
1.6 BlueHDi: simply the best oil engine on the market!
BlueHDi technology is the most efficient available in terms of fuel economy and emissions management as it uniquely combines the SCR (selective catalytic reduction) system with a microparticle filter (FAP) enhanced with a special additive (Adblue). It drastically reduces nitrogen oxides by 90%, optimises CO2 emissions and fuel consumption and ensures the elimination of microparticles by 99.9%.
The 1.6 BlueHDi engine is available in three power versions:
- 1.6 BlueHDi 75 with 5-speed manual transmission, CO2 emissions 90g/km, consumption 3.5 L/100km

PureTech: 3-cylinder engines with CO2 emissions from 95g/km!
The 1.2 PureTech 82 and 1.2 PureTech 82 ETG petrol versions are joined by the new three-cylinder turbocharged 1.2 PureTech 110 S&S engine. The new power unit offers outstanding fuel consumption and power characteristics thanks to its advanced technology with high-pressure injection system (200 bar), a new generation turbocharging system (with a maximum turbocharger speed limit of 240,000 rpm), and unrivalled performance from low operating speeds. Combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox and CO2 emissions of just 103 g/km.
Alternatively, it can be paired with the new EAT6 6-speed automatic transmission, which is manufactured by AISIN and uses Quickshift technology for faster and smoother gear changes. In addition, its operation helps reduce emissions and compared to the manual gearbox version, it saves 1 g/km (with the same tyre size). With CO2 emissions of 104 g/km, the 1.2 PureTech 110 S&S EAT6 version is a model standard for an automatic transmission in its class, as it achieves a 45g CO2/km reduction compared to the previous generation (the automatic 1.6 VTi 120)!
At the top of the range of the new PEUGEOT 208 is the turbocharged 1.6 THP 208 that powers the legendary GTi version.
