The Nissan GT-R50 is on the catwalk in Tokyo

The Nissan GT-R50 from Italdesign, the ultimate "expression" of the Nissan GT-R supercar, will be on display for a limited time at Nissan Crossing, Ginza, Tokyo.

The prototype model combines the legendary performance of the GT-R with Italian engineering. Nissan has teamed up with Turin-based Italdesign to create a unique model based on the latest Nissan GT-R NISMO, commemorating the 50th anniversaries of both the GT-R and Italdesign.

The car arrives at Nissan Crossing after relevant appearances in Europe and the U.S., including its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England in July. It will be on site at Nissan Crossing until November 25.

The Nissan GT-R50 features a distinctive gold exterior element that runs almost the entire width of the vehicle. The bonnet is visibly bulging, emphasising the car's power, while subtle LED headlights extend from the wheel arches to the lip above the outer air intake grilles. Underneath the new shape of the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign, lies a real treasure! Drawing on Nissan's GT3 racing experience, NISMO has beefed up the hand-assembled 3.8-litre V638RETT V6 engine, which for the occasion delivers 720bhp and 780Nm of torque.

The very positive reception of the original by the public has got the two companies thinking about a production version. In such a case, Italdesign will build no more than 50 units, with each car tailored to the requirements of its lucky owner. As for the price of the car, it is estimated to be close to around 900,000 euros.

Alongside the Nissan GT-R50, Seiko Watch Corp. will present at Nissan Crossing a watch exclusively designed for the model : the GMT Seiko Sports Collection Spring-Drive Chronograph GMT.

The Nissan Crossing will also feature the 1974 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R, a famous model - the "ancestor" of the GT-R50, which was built especially for the 1972 Tokyo Motor Show. Of course, the Nissan Crossing will also feature the Nissan Concept Vision 2020 Gran Turismo, a favorite of Nissan enthusiasts everywhere.
