New Ford puma: With technologies for more safety and easier driving
The new Ford puma introduces in a compact crossover driving technologies found in larger cars, ensuring even more comfortable and confident journeys. The system Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control by Stop & Go benefits not only from smoother braking and acceleration, but also from the lane centring and Predictive Speed Assist, proactively controlling vehicle speed at bends in the road, roundabouts and when entering or leaving motorways.
The system Intersection Assist monitors the road ahead for potential collisions with oncoming vehicles in parallel lanes - and pedestrians and cyclists crossing the road the driver is turning into - and can automatically apply the brakes to prevent or mitigate the severity of a collision. It works without the need for road signs or roadside equipment, and at night with headlights on.
Another assistance system which is available in the new Ford puma is the Reverse Brake Assist. When the vehicle detects stationary objects such as pedestrians, bicycles, bollards or other vehicles, it will warn the driver and can apply the brakes to prevent or mitigate the severity of a collision. Similarly, the Rear Cross Traffic Braking brakes the vehicle, if necessary, when it detects moving objects such as pedestrians, cyclists or vehicles.
The optional camera system surround–view 360-degree displays on the main screen of the new Ford puma a "floating" a top view that allows all drivers to see objects and obstacles that are not visible from inside the vehicle - making it easier to park and manoeuvre in tight spaces.
Also, the available headlamps Dynamic Matrix LED offer improved visibility and help protect other road users. The function Glare Free High Beam uses the car's front camera to detect traffic from the opposite direction, creating a glare–free area of light that does not blind the people across the street. In order to increase the driver's field of vision, the Predictive Dynamic Bending Light it monitors the road ahead to better illuminate corners.
