Fans of internal combustion engines, rejecting the electric ones, initially said they lacked sound. Ford, introducing the Mustang Mach-E, had the sound of the V8 reproduced through the speakers. Then they said they missed the smell of gasoline. In response to this, Ford also revealed a new fragrance, Mach- Eau, which smells of gasoline, smoke and rubber. And now it's wondering what else petrolheads will discover they're missing until they're convinced to buy the all-electric Mach-E.

At least that's what the brand says, for now.
"I'll miss the stench"

The smell of gasoline was also highlighted more popular than that of wine and cheese, while ranking almost in the same position as the of new books.
The new fragrance was designed to to accompany these drivers in the future of motoring through the sense of smell. But instead of smelling just like gasoline, the Mach-Eau is designed to meet the "nose"whoever wears it: It is a high standard perfume that mixes "notes" tobacco, smell rubber and an even more "animal" element which refers to legacy of Mustang. To make it clearer: It smells like a horse!
Ford unveiled the fragrance a few days ago at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the annual event that attracts petrolheads from all over the world. The fragrance is part of Ford's effort to to dispel the myths around electric cars and to convince friends of the traditional cars on the potential of electric vehicles.
Almost the a quarter (24%) of those who responded to Ford's survey said that he would have missed the performance of petrol vehicles with an electric model. However, the all-electric set of Mach-E GT by power 487 hp and torque 860 Nm, supports a a new level of driving pleasure, says Ford and unique performance, offering 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.7 seconds. Something that certainly doesn't leave fans of high performance cars unmoved.
How the fragrance was created
The Mach-Eau fragrance was created by perfumery group of of the famous perfume consultancy Olfiction, with ingredients that each add a specific element to the history of the fragrance. The perfume creator Pia Long and partner of the British Society of Perfumers, which creates fragrances for some of the most prestigious famous brands in the perfumery sector, played a key role in the "conception" of the fragrance Mach-Eau.
Home for Pia Long was the study of the chemicals emerging from the interiors of the cars, their engines and the petrol. Among them was the benzaldehyde, a smell reminiscent of bitter almond and characterizes the interior of cars, as well as the paracresol, which is a key component of the odour of the tyres. The latter were mixed with ingredients such as blue ginger, lavender, geranium and sandalwood who added in turn "notes" from metal, tobacco, and rubber. Also, an "animal" element was added to the mixture, referring to horse, underlining the Mustang's heritage.
