CUPRA TEXNOKAP announced the beginning of its cooperation with the Greek ultra-distance swimmer Spyros Chrysikopoulos, who will support him in his preparation and in his next, separate, sporting ventures.
Spyros Chrysikopoulos was born in Athens in 1991 and is a super-distance swimmer with great distinctions as well as a swimming coach. The projects he carries out seem superhuman and impossible, but he carries them out with a unique approach.
He recently became a Guinness World Record holder, as he swam 358.2 km in one week in the 50 m indoor pool of the O.A.K.A., while just some of his major accomplishments to date are:
- He is the Panhellenic record holder in the 24 hours swimming in 50m.
- He has swam across the Toronean Gulf 4 times in a row. A distance of 104 km, which he has covered in 34 hours and 10 minutes.
- He is the only Greek who has swum 100 km in a swimming pool in 29 hours and 16 minutes.
- Apart from his swimming achievements, Spyros has also run in very demanding and difficult ultra-distance races in Greece and abroad.
For Spyros, over-distances are a way of life and his belief is that man can achieve anything, as long as he believes that his limits are far beyond what he thinks. His swimming ventures last for over 24 hours without any stop for sleep or rest and that makes them even more impressive.
CUPRA, for its part, is a new, unconventional brand that has a modern vision of dynamism and challenge in its DNA. Both CUPRA and Spyros come to redefine the concept of "sport" with vision and passion, characteristics that lead them to achieve their ambitious goals.
As part of the collaboration, Spyros will drive all CUPRA models on his travels, starting with the CUPRA Leon 1.4 e-Hybrid 245 hp, a model that combines high performance with a modern and environmentally friendly profile.
