BYD introduces a new brand and new technologies to the European car market. The spearhead is the new BYD ATTO 3, a spacious C-SUV with front-wheel drive that combines contemporary aesthetics with efficiency as a result of the innovative technology the company is adopting in its electric vehicles. The BYD ATTO 3 has been designed with European buyers' preferences in mind, making it a stylish and attractive option with a wealth of standard equipment and top-notch connectivity.
Combining exotic culture with modern European lifestyle
Ideally proportioned and designed under the guidance of BYD Design Director Wolfgang Egger, the BYD ATTO 3 has a distinctive silhouette optimised for aerodynamic performance, which gives it a drag coefficient of just 0.29Cd, with clear benefits in terms of vehicle stability at high speeds and reduced noise.
ATTO 3 represents the next step in the evolution of BYD's Dragon Face design language, which draws inspiration from thousands of years of tradition. The BYD ATTO 3 is characterized by expressive lines, while the front end bears elements inspired by the ancient dragons of Chinese mythology, such as LED headlights and the horizontal aluminum trim on the grille that symbolize the eyes and mustache of the mythical creatures respectively.

"When designing the BYD ATTO 3 we wanted to create a very fresh, spacious and youthful feel to attract young people and families. We were inspired by dragons, hence the name of the design language Dragon Face. The distinctive moustache, skin and dragon eyes are all elements depicted in the BYD ATTO 3."
With a length of 4.455 mm. and 1,875 mm wide, the BYD ATTO 3 has a wheelbase of 2,720 mm, which is optimized for space and comfort.
The keyless entry system provides access to a spacious cabin, featuring innovative and intelligent digital technology. The unique interior features design touches inspired by gym-inspired instrumentation, such as door handles that evoke a bar, a gear selector that resembles kettlebell weights and air vents that resemble dumbbell weights.
Extremely safe and efficient EV technology
The BYD ATTO 3 benefits from the innovative Blade Battery, which revolutionizes the safety, durability and performance of the electric vehicle segment. This battery can withstand the rigorous Nail Penetration Test, considered the "Everest" of battery passive safety testing and simulates a short circuit that causes heat and consequently fire to build up. In this test Blade Battery excelled, unlike competitor batteries that ignited.
Blade Battery does not use cobalt, and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) has been chosen as the cathode material, which offers a much higher level of safety than conventional lithium-ion batteries. Batteries with LFP chemistry have inherent excellent thermal stability. The battery is extremely safe and durable, with uncompromised performance, providing high power density combined with the advantage of extremely low power consumption.
Aiming for the ultimate combination of performance and intelligence, the ATTO 3 is the first SUV based on BYD's intelligent e-Platform 3.0 platform. BYD's "8-in-1" electric powertrain system integrates the Vehicle Control Unit, Battery Management System, Power Distribution Unit, Transmission Motor, Motor and Transmission Controller, DC-DC Management and the Integrated Charger. Thanks to this comprehensive integration, the system performance reaches 89%.
In addition, the high-efficiency heat pump, which is standard equipment on the BYD ATTO 3, increases thermal efficiency by up to 20% in winter. The innovative system harnesses waste heat from the drivetrain, passenger compartment and even the batteries, and can operate over a wide temperature range. Intelligent thermal management for extreme weather conditions provides excellent autonomy at low temperatures.
With its 60.48 kWh Blade Battery and in combination with the modern permanent magnet electric motor, the BYD ATTO 3 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds. The maximum torque of 310 Nm and the powerful 150kW/204PS engine provide seamless performance up to a top speed of 160 km/h. There are three driving modes; Sport Mode, Normal Mode, Economy Mode, depending on the conditions and driver preferences.
The MacPherson-type front and multi-link rear suspension works in harmony with ventilated disc brakes at the front - solid discs at the rear and effectively manages the weight of the body, offering comfort, safety and a fast ride if the driver so chooses.
The BYD ATTO 3 ensures top electric range according to the WLTP standard. This reaches 420 kilometres in mixed conditions and 565 kilometres in the city, with an energy consumption of just 15.6 kW/100 km.

The BYD model is also equipped with V2L technology, which allows easy recharging of external devices from the car's battery.

Smart connectivity and a state-of-the-art infotainment system are some of the other key elements of the BYD ATTO 3, which is equipped with the DiLink 4.0 (4G) system, offering top-of-the-line technology experiences and Over The Air (OTA) updates as part of the cloud service. Navigation functionality is standard.
A key feature inside the BYD ATTO 3 is the unique 12.8-inch (15.6-inch in the Design version) rotating screen with voice recognition, which provides a wealth of built-in apps, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The eight-speaker Dirac Performance Audio System produces clear, high-fidelity sound.

The state-of-the-art LED lighting technology offers a wide beam of light, improving visibility during night driving. The High Beam Assist lighting system, Adaptive Front Headlights and Follow Me Home function are standard, as are metallic paint, 18-inch wheels, USB-C charging ports for front and rear passengers, 7 airbags, and front-rear parking sensors.
In fact, the ATTO 3 has been awarded the highest rating of 5 stars in the independent EuroNCAP crash tests. It is worth noting that the rating in adult protection reached 91% - a class-leading value.
With a price from 37.990 € and 6 years warranty
The ATTO 3 comes with a 6-year basic warranty (or 150,000 km), an 8-year electric motor warranty (or 150,000 km) and an 8-year battery warranty (or 200,000 km). The BYD model is immediately available in our country in two versions. The Comfort is priced at €37,990, while the Design costs €39,990 (the listed prices do not include any benefit from government programs), and a free 3-year service is offered for orders until the end of 2024.
