Nissan has set a goal to achieve carbon neutrality in all its business activities and product lifecycle by 2050. As part of this effort, in the early 2030s, every brand new Nissan vehicle available in key markets will be electric. Based on this planning, Nissan North America, has set a goal that over 40% of its vehicle sales in the U.S. by 2030 will be all-electric. It is worth noting that in Europe, Nissan aims to achieve 50% of electrified sales, by 2024.

"With the LEAF, Nissan has shown its pioneering spirit in electric vehicles. Now, with more than half a million pure electric vehicles on the road and more than 5 billion electric miles driven on roads around the world, we are helping to revolutionize electric vehicles. Nissan is fully committed to doing its part to build a cleaner, safer and more inclusive society for all."

Building on the success of the LEAF, which is now in its second generation, Nissan will launch the all-electric ARIYA crossover in 2022. Taking the excitement and potential of zero-emission mobility to the next level, ARIYA combines high-level performance, handling and connectivity with a serene, refined cabin and advanced technology to make driving easier and more fun.

"It is vital that the automotive industry and government work together to promote electric vehicles, and support the construction of the associated infrastructure to achieve the next generation of electrification. First and foremost, we want more American drivers to enjoy the benefits of electrification: lower emissions, lower operating costs and a lot more fun, behind the wheel."
