Honda needs to respond to their dealers' complaints and in 2018 is the ideal opportunity: because 20 years since the launch of the S2000 and 70 years since the foundation of the company.

In any case, Honda was preparing for years the replacement for its legendary model and this is proven by the fact that since May 2015 Honda has file and patent the plans and the name of the new model in the European Patent Organization. From which he is and the plans you see.
As regards the engine and horsepower, the Japanese company has gone through... forty waves and still hasn't decided. All we know for sure, our US sources tell us, is that the new S2000 will have a horsepower of over 300 hp and under 400 (there is information about 325 and 365 horsepower) and that he will do his sprint 0-100 km/h in 5 seconds. As well as that its consumption will be limited to the 7 litres/100 km!
These are the plans Honda has patented for the new S2000
Originally, Honda had decided to put a 1,500cc turbo in the new S2000. Then, it changed its decision and planned to put the Type-R's two-liter on it. But, plans changed again and now, it is considered (almost) certain that it will use a brand new two-litre four-cylinder engine with a two-stage electric turbocharger.
Using technology similar to Mitsubishi's, the electric supercharger, is not only smaller and lighter, but also achieves better fuel economy than conventional twin turbos, almost completely eliminating turbo lag. In practice, this means that the new S2000 will have amazing response στο πάτημα του γκαζιού. Ως επετειακό μοντέλο που θα είναι (θα παρουσιαστεί με την RC213V-S superbike), το S2000 εξετάζεται να μην έχει μόνο αναφορές στο ένδοξο παρελθόν του, αλλά και καινοτομίες. Γι’ αυτό και όπως μαθαίνουμε, δεν έχει εγκαταλειφθεί η ιδέα τον δίλιτρο κινητήρα να “συνοδεύουν” δύο electric motors που έχουν εξελιχθεί ήδη, σε συνεργασία με τη McLaren.
Οι διαρροές από το εργοστάσιο θέλουν την Price του S2000 στην Ευρώπη να ξεκινά από τις 42.000 ευρώ και, σε κάθε περίπτωση, κοντά στο “ψυχολογικό όριο” των 50.000. Είναι πιθανό να κάνουν οι Ιάπωνες τέτοια έκπληξη; Μείνε συντονισμένος το TopSpeed.gr για να το μάθεις!
