Introducing the new, third generation Swift Sport, you were wondering what new the people at Swift Sport have to offer. Suzuki. With the specs not announced, but some details that stand out, you know that the Japanese company's hot hatch is the closest thing to the recipe of "authentic sports cars" of old school.
The new generation of Swift Sport wears for first time turbocharger. Ο 1.4 litre Boosterjet Attributed to 140 hp (just 4 more than the 1.6 atmospheric of the previous generation) and 230 Nm torque (70 more than the previous generation), while transmitting the drive to the front wheels with a six-speed manual box. The burdens, has been reduced by 80 kilos, bringing the total to the magic number under the ton, at 970 pounds.
"We know that our customers value a dynamic driving experience more than anything else," says the Swift Sport's chief development engineer, Masao Kobori and it goes on: "So we made the new Swift Sport lighter, faster and more participatory in every way."
But it's not just about power. Suzuki claims that the new model has a larger Stability, higher torsional stiffness and improved dynamics Response compared to his predecessor. Forward, he's been fitted with shock absorbers Monroe, that give him 15% more stiffness during the turns.
Suzuki has grown the Swift Sport, by keeping the wheelbase by 20mm and by widening the by 40 mm. And the bodywork has lower by 15mm. "With the third generation we took the game to the next level as an authentic hot hatch. And, I'm sure when you drive it, you'll say... OWAY", says Kobori!
