More horsepower with less fuel consumption andexemption from the payment of circulation taxes
Alfa Romeo's popular premium hatchback, the Giulietta, which has impressed with its seductive lines and sporty driving behaviour, is equipped with a new 1.6 JTDM-2 Euro 6 diesel engine. The new engine complements the Giulietta's wide range of engines, which provide a solution to every driving need, combining economical city and off-road driving with pure sporty performance.
In the context of continuous development and in line with Alfa Romeo's tradition of engines that perfectly combine economy and performance, the new diesel engine is an evolution of the versatile 1.6 JTDM-2 105hp E5+, which has become popular for its responsiveness and very low fuel consumption. Features that have been retained and further enhanced in the new 1.6 JTDM-2 120hp E6.
The new engine delivers a higher horsepower of 120hp, and unlike the fixed-geometry turbocharger used in the previous 105hp engine, it has a variable-geometry turbocharger. This technological addition ensures many advantages, both in terms of performance and economy, as it helps not only to increase horsepower and performance, but also to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. In particular, due to the reduced CO2 emissions, Giulietta 1.6 JTDM-2 120hp E6 versions, together with the new eco-tires as standard equipment, are exempt from paying road tax. In addition, the Giulietta with this engine is among the most environmentally friendly cars, as it meets the European Union's most stringent Euro 6 emissions standards.
The technological development of the new 1.6 JTDM-2 120hp engine brings out the dynamic personality of the Giulietta, offering improved performance (compared to the 1.6 JTDM-2 105hp), giving the Giulietta better acceleration, 0-100 km/h in 10 seconds (from 11.3'') with a top speed of 195 km/h (from 185 km/h with the previous 105hp engine). At the same time, its average consumption in the combined cycle is just 3.8 litres/100 km (in combination with the eco-friendly tyres offered as standard equipment) and CO2 emissions are 99 g/km. In addition, this sophisticated engine package works in conjunction with the Start & Stop system to deliver even greater fuel economy and reduced emissions.
Finally, the Giulietta with the new 1.6 JTDM-2 120hp E6 engine is available in Progression, which caters for the most demanding needs for rich equipment at a low cost, and Distinctive, for those seeking unique style and ultimate comfort. Both versions include eco-friendly tyres as standard equipment, which help to achieve the low 99g/km CO2 limit and therefore exemption from road tax. In particular, in the Progression version, these tyres are combined with 16" alloy wheels, while in the Distinctive version they are combined with 17" alloy wheels.
In the Greek market, the Giulietta 1.6 JTDM-2 120hp starts from €21,370, with a €2,500 benefit and a favourable finance rate of 5.25% (including promotion and withdrawal benefit) or 0% interest rate for the Progression version.
