Ford: Which innovation in commercial models improves business efficiency

Μια νέα τεχνολογία της Ford Pro μπορεί να βοηθήσει τις επιχειρήσεις διανομής εμπορευμάτων να εξοικονομήσουν πολύτιμο χρόνο σε κάθε παράδοση

An innovative technology is coming for its professional models Ford, which improves the efficiency of businesses as it can help them to save valuable time on each delivery in the distribution of goods.

In particular, Valentine's Day was a difficult period for all goods delivery businesses and their drivers, as it is a day when chocolates, flowers and a host of other romantic surprises have to be delivered on time to their recipients. Now, Ford Pro has developed a new technology that aims to simplify many of the tasks these drivers perform during deliveries.

Delivery Assist 1 technology can automatically switch off the engine, close the windows, lock the vehicle's doors and activate the headlights. This could well help businesses to save a few precious seconds per stop, improving business efficiency and enabling them to make more deliveries.

The purpose

This new technology helps put drivers and fleet managers at ease, ensuring that van vehicles remain safe when they are removed from them to complete a delivery. In addition, it is designed to reduce the number of tasks drivers need to remember to carry out so they can concentrate on deliveries.

"Delivery Assist reduces the driver's to-do list, making the journeys they make more comfortable and speeding up the delivery process. This results in more packages being delivered in less time. Which is good for both our customers and their own customers. Getting rid of many small obligations can make a big difference," said Hans Schep, general manager, Ford Pro, Europe.

Once the driver has finished delivering the package, the Delivery Assist system helps the driver to move away from the vehicle. The van can be unlocked using the integrated keyless entry system, and with the push of the brake pedal, the engine is restarted and the windows return to their previous position. Drivers have the ability to customize the window, alarm and lock automation to suit their needs.

Delivery Assist is the fruit of the efforts of Ford's human-centred design team, which has created many other innovations in the past, such as the tilting steering wheel. This technology will be available on the 2025 Ford E-Transit 2.3 and Ford Transit EcoBlue 2.4 van models with a diesel engine and automatic transmission. In addition, it will be offered on van versions of the all-new Ford E-Transit Custom 2.5 and the Ford Transit Custom 2.6 with automatic transmission.

The first deliveries to customers are expected in the summer of 2025.
