Production starts today on SEAT's first electric motorcycle, the SEAT MÓ eScooter 125, in collaboration with Barcelona-based Silence, which specialises in electric motorcycles. This vehicle provides a new range of mobility to meet the needs of a new generation that moves more efficiently in urban and peri-urban areas. It also demonstrates the ongoing commitment of SEAT MÓ, SEAT's new business unit, to caring for the environment, cities and the people who live in them.
From 16 December the first units will be available in 18 Spanish dealerships. The new SEAT MÓ electric motorcycle will also arrive in five other European countries (Germany, France, Italy, France, Austria and Sweden) in the first quarter of next year and will be on the roads in Portugal in the second half of the year.
The motorcycle will be produced at the Silence factory located in Sant Boi de Llobregat (Barcelona). The Silence team, with the support of SEAT's R&D engineers in battery manufacturing, helped the company recover quickly after the recent fire that broke out at its facilities and meet production deadlines. In record time, the Sant Boi plant was prepared to meet the new battery assembly line.
Technical characteristics
Powered by a 7 kW engine (maximum power: 9 kW), the motorcycle reaches a top speed of 95 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in 3.9 seconds. It has a battery that provides enough energy for a range of up to 137 km. It also has three riding modes, Eco, City and Sport, which adapt to different situations. The easily rechargeable and portable battery simplifies operation and the high degree of connectivity makes the SEAT MÓ eScooter 125 perfectly integrated into users' daily lives.
The vehicle will be available in three colours - Daring Red, Aluminium Gray and Oxygen White - which have been specially created to highlight the eScooter's character and personality. Its starting price in Spain is 6,250 euros (5,500 euros with the MOVES II subsidy programme) and buyers can choose financing schemes from 3 euros/day (for 48 months).
