From Kifissos Avenue started today the patrols of the closed road safety vehicles of the Region of Attica

 

  First day of operation today for The closed road safety van-type vehicles of the
Attica Region, which began patrols on Kifissos Avenue, a
road which very often
faces
traffic problems from small incidents such as minor collisions or
immobilised vehicles causing significant delays.

 

  This is an innovative initiative of the Regional Governor
Attica C. Patoulis, who went to Kifissos today and supervised the opening of the
operation of the vehicles, but also the safe execution of the procedure. The
vehicles started their operation today, after a complete and integrated

 Delegated Regional Councillor,
responsible for matters relating to the Directorate for Metropolitan Infrastructure Management I. Katsigiannis,
the Delegated Regional Councillor for Technical Works, E.  Kosmidis and the Road Safety Advisor of the
Region Mr. Logothetis.

 

  It should be noted that the special vans are staffed with trained staff and it is
equipped with variable message signs, technical lighting systems
and audible warning, wireless communication, GPS and a full range of
fire-fighting tools and materials and lubricant absorption from the road surface.
 The vehicles will
are in constant communication with the traffic management centre which
will supervise and coordinate operations.

  In addition, they will be in close cooperation with the crews
damage restoration of the road network of the Region of Attica In order to
safely carry out their work, while recording any damage to the
damage or danger that may endanger road users, or

emergency.

The three service vans
citizens on Kifissos Avenue will be able to intervene directly where necessary
necessary. In particular, they will be able to facilitate vehicles which have
immobilised due to lack of fuel, battery, tyre wear, etc., so that
traffic is not obstructed for a long period of time and that no
congestion or even accidents. The programme is being launched as a pilot for this
point of our competence and will be extended to other points presented
