Maserati Quattroporte Grand Finale and MC20 Iris: proof of Italian craftsmanship

The latest version of the Maserati Quattroporte: A Glorious Departure

On Wednesday, 31 July, in Stresa, in the magnificent setting of Lake Maggiore, two special Maserati models - symbols of the most exclusive and exceptional personalised production of the Modena-based company - were delivered to a dedicated Maserati customer in the USA, a major biomedical entrepreneur.

The first is the latest Quattroporte, as well as the final V8 internal combustion engine model, which has been renamed the Quattroporte Grand Finale as a farewell from the automotive scene. The second, MC20 Iris, refers to all the rainbow colours (iris is the Latin word) that are present throughout the car, inside and out.

Thanks to the refined details and intricate construction used in both cars, which were designed as part of the Maserati Fuoriserie personalisation programme, Maserati has created two unique creations to meet the demands of a customer who saw the personalisation of two of the top models in the brand's history become a reality: the Quattroporte a luxury sedan and for six generations the perfect expression of Maserati excellence, and the more modern Maserati MC20, an iconic super sports car with undeniable style.

The exterior of the Quattroporte Grand Finale is characterised by the elegant Blu Nobile colour, with the body kit made of carbon fibre and painted in the same tone, while the brake calipers are made of brushed aluminium. The last Quattroporte Maserati will ever build is equipped with the unforgettable, powerful 572bhp V8 engine. On the windscreen and inside the driver's door, the car's identification number is imprinted: 999999. A custom cover was also created to house the engine's roar, signed by the Fuoriserie team and the engineers who worked on the project.

The car's interiors are dedicated to meticulous Italian art and renowned craftsmanship to showcase the high quality materials and meet the customer's specific requirements: they include a steering wheel with walnut wood trim, door panels in brown, A-pillar in black leather, the Trident logo with black stitching on the headrest, leather trunk lining and walnut wood trim on the passenger door handle. The special "Grand Finale" badge on the centre console and the special door sill with the same inscription give the Quattroporte Grand Finale a decidedly distinctive look, for a car that even in its latest version is confirmed as an undisputed icon.

The MC20 Iris is another very special car, the result of the equally precise and detailed craftsmanship of Maserati's engineers, who sought the input of top industry experts for a final result that would be difficult to replicate. The car's common theme is the rainbow (iris), a motif personally chosen by the customer. The vibrant and futuristic AI Aqua Rainbow colour stands out on the exterior and is replicated on the Trident which is prominently positioned in the centre of the wheel covers, defining the car's strong stylistic personality.

In the cabin, the AI Aqua Rainbow colour highlights the stitching that serves as the most striking feature on the armrest, the centre console - both in ICE leather, the first time a tunnel has been made from this material - and the steering wheel. The "+" and "-" marks on the steering wheel levers are also in the same colour as the viewfinder on the top rim of the steering wheel, instead of white. The door sill is decorated with the laser-cut "MC20 Iris" lettering. The AI Aqua Rainbow color returns to the stitching, the signature element in the engine compartment and trunk. In this particular, exclusive version full of refined details, the MC20 is once again the first of its kind, a car that combines Maserati tradition and the best elements that characterise the future of the brand.
