Presentation - First Contact: Mini Countryman C 1.5 MHEV 170 PS

Στην Ελλάδα από 34.500€ με πλήρη εξοπλισμο

At a planned event at the Beehive Tower, Mini introduced us to the third and advanced generation of the Countryman. The new model, significantly larger in size, leaves the B-SUV category and enters the C-SUV category, being the largest Mini ever and leaving room for the future Aceman.

Externally, the car retains the Mini design philosophy. The curves have given way to modern edges. However, the car retains its familiar silhouette as a link to its predecessors!

Fully digitized

The main changes are found inside the car, where all functions are passed through the multimedia system supported by the circular OLED central display. Most switches have been replaced by digital functions. Design-wise, it invests in simplicity and retro aesthetics, reminiscent of the original Mini, with the minimalist sports steering wheel and the digital instrument panel at the top of the circular display. The functions, however, take some getting used to.

Quality on the road

Driving-wise, the new Mini Countryman embraces the brand's sporty philosophy. The alternation of driving modes from the "eco-friendly" Green to the "hot" GoKart follows the driver's mood. The engine is supple and linear, while the automatic transmission achieves timely shifts without a time gap.

On the road it handles exceptionally well, the steering is precise and has a top-notch ride quality thanks to the robust chassis!

The Acquaintance

Minimalist all-rounder: the new MINI Countryman.

Increased in height and length by six and thirteen centimetres respectively, the new MINI Countryman is significantly larger than its predecessor. With wider wheel arches, charismatic character and a modern minimalist design with clean surfaces, the car now makes its presence felt even more.

Inside, the robust, adventurous MINI model offers even more space, comfort and safety, even off-road thanks to four-wheel drive. The new MINI Experience Modes and more driving assistance systems, including the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant which is controlled via voice commands, make getaways in the new MINI Countryman even more comfortable and fun. The all-electric drive system also contributes to this, further enhancing the fun driving experience that is a trademark of the brand with two power levels. As the first MINI to be built in Germany, the model also breaks new ground in terms of production.

At 4,433 mm long, 1,843 mm wide and 1,656 mm high, the MINI Countryman is both a stylish all-rounder and your everyday companion, offering plenty of space. The increase in the wheelbase to 2,692 mm helps to further enhance comfort. The all-electric MINI Countryman is available in two performance levels: As the MINI Countryman E with 150 kW/204 hp and 250 Nm of torque, it has a range of 462 km. The MINI Countryman SE ALL4 with 230 kW/313 hp and 494 Nm offers an even longer range of 433 km.

In its electric third generation, the largest model in the new MINI family continues the brand's journey into the era of zero-emission electric mobility. The compact crossover model has been on the road to success since its market launch in 2010, boasting five doors and - for the first time in a MINI model at the time - a length of over four metres. Unsurprisingly, the optional all-wheel drive of this mighty adventure lover ensures safe and unbridled fun - even on off-the-beaten-track routes.

"The all-electric MINI Countryman, the largest model in the new MINI family, introduces the brand to the era of emission-free electric mobility. The first MINI to be built in Germany also offers the highest possible level of environmental compatibility in production. Its versatility and powerful electric drive system make it the ideal companion for the city and for longer adventures," comments Stefanie Wurst, Head of MINI.

The new MINI design language: charismatic simplicity.

The design of the new generation of MINI models is modern, digital and clear. With the new MINI family, the brand is taking driving fun, user experience and responsible behaviour into a new era. This complete transformation as the brand heads towards becoming fully electric by 2030 is reflected in the authentic design of the new models, combining the technology of the future with the elemental principles of body design and the brand's heritage. In this way, the urban character of the MINI is emphasised alongside the sheer joy of innovation.

"The new MINI Countryman is our vehicle for the whole family. In its latest generation, it has not only grown in height, length and interior - it has also been significantly improved in character, looks and experience. It is now even more modern, more spacious and more stable. Its personality at the front is reflected both in its straighter proportions and in the vertical orientation of the design language. Its robust and steadfast character is also instantly recognisable from the more distinctive radiator grille, the distinctive light clusters and the chiselled bonnet," says Oliver Heilmer, Head of MINI Design.

The exterior design: expressive minimalism with character.

With its straightforward and minimalist silhouette, the new MINI Countryman embodies the adventurous spirit, agility and reliability of a compact crossover. Its expressive off-road character is defined by typical MINI proportions, ensuring that the new MINI Countryman is highly recognisable. The short front ends, short bonnet and long wheelbase with large wheels combine classic MINI design elements with a sporty, mature body.

In addition, the new and improved aerodynamic design of the MINI Countryman helps to improve fuel consumption, which has a positive impact on the environment. The drag coefficient cd of 0.26 for the all-electric MINI Countryman is truly impressive - compared to 0.31 for the previous model. The next-generation MINI crossover model thus achieves optimum performance in this area compared to its competitors, adopting intelligent design with a minimal footprint.

The modern exterior design is supported by clean surfaces and a slightly curved roof that transitions seamlessly to the new C-pillar, which has a similar shape to the version, making it a highly visible differentiator between models, equipment options and subsequent variants. The design of the C-pillar therefore depends on the equipment choice, giving each variant its own character. The graphics and logos are minimalist, blend harmoniously with the relief and match the contrasting colour of the chosen roof. An element of the exterior design is the perimeter trim in black.

As the designers opted for an uncluttered look, the typical MINI design features such as the visual separation of the body in three parts and the large window area around the perimeter, combined with the contrasting roof, have a greater impact, allowing the new design language to develop a strong presence.

MINI LED spotlights with Signature Modes: impressive glow with personalised lighting modes.

The front end of the all-electric MINI Countryman is defined by the expressive contours of the new octagonal grille. A particularly small radar sensor is integrated into its surface in order to support the increased functionality of the driver assistance systems.

In the new generation of the model, the MINI Countryman is the first vehicle with Level 2 assistance systems that enable semi-autonomous driving. Certain design details at the front of the vehicle differ depending on the equipment level selected. For example, the Favoured version enlists the sparkling Vibrant Silver colour for the exterior details.
The daytime running light elements of the LED headlamps support this striking look with a fresh glow thanks to the unique bright signatures. Optionally, the daytime running light elements can be changed to create three light signatures on the front and rear LED headlights, thus enhancing the individual character of each vehicle. In addition, all lighting functions start and end with a specially tuned welcome and farewell animation. This interaction with the MINI increases anticipation for the car even before you set off.

Authentic design for a strong presence and increased dynamic performance.

As with the entire bodywork, there are no chrome elements in the front headlight frame. This results in the front section having a focused expression. Combined with the curved bonnet, slightly wider track and raised body, the more versatile MINI oozes ruggedness.

In profile, the new MINI Countryman exudes dynamism through a minimalist appearance. The perimeter trim in black is narrower than its predecessor. The distinctive C-pillar design supports the roofline at the rear of the vehicle, while making it appear shorter. This makes the entire body look straighter, emphasising the character of the new MINI Countryman. Wheels up to 20 inches in diameter are available in various designs, adding to the ruggedness. Plus, the design focuses much more on body colour with an emphasis on elegance.

As a result of the new MINI aesthetic, the rear section exudes a design consistency with its clean surfaces and recessed tail lights. Here, their vertical arrangement is reminiscent of the classic MINI headlamps, framing the large central section of the rear of the vehicle. This design emphasises the greater width of the new MINI Countryman, while at the same time giving the body a particularly high-quality and straightforward appearance. As with the front headlamps, the rear lights can also highlight certain features of the vehicle through their different functions. The pronounced shoulders enhance the dynamic appearance of the new MINI Countryman. The rear end narrows below the model's nameplate, resulting in a visual split into two sections. The lower section of the rear bumper emphasises the vehicle's robust stance, while the generous surfaces in the upper section make the vehicle look lighter.

Four independent versions and new roof colours.

The new Vibrant Silver shade extends the range of contrasting roof features of the MINI Countryman. In addition, the model is available in four different versions. The Essential version exudes maximum purity with an unadorned overall appearance, highlighting certain functional elements such as the logo in the new Vibrant Silver colour. The new range of exterior colours underlines the modern character of the new MINI and adds a positive aura with bright tones such as Indigo Sunset Blue.

While the Classic version is mainly concerned with the interior, the Favoured version has particularly prominent details on the exterior. This version, for example, offers the option of the new Vibrant Silver colour for the roof in harmony with the contrasting front grille.

The John Cooper Works version, on the other hand, puts maximum emphasis on the sporty feel of the MINI Countryman with a distinctive design front and rear. The grille frame and logo in gloss black underline the dynamic overall look, along with the model-specific stripes in red and black. A contrasting roof in Chili Red - inspired by motorsport - together with the striking C-pillar in the same colour scheme and an eye-catching JCW logo as an option emphasise the familiar dynamic character of MINI models on the road.

The interior: generous, digital, immersive and welcoming.

The dashboard of the new MINI Countryman on the driver's side does not require an additional screen: all relevant content is shown on the optional head-up display. This reduction to the essentials improves forward visibility, shaping the spacious interior with intelligently designed, high-quality components.

As in the new MINI Cooper, the large curved dashboard in the Classic, Favoured and JCW versions adopts fabric surfaces for the first time. The warm and pleasant materials create a new and intimate environment for the MINI Countryman with an emphasis on the wellness factor. A special knitting technique is used to create the practical and flexible structure of the two-tone fabric made from recycled polyester. The entire interior is divided into an upper and a lower section along a horizontal line below the new round instrument panel. Above this, all the design elements, such as the air vents and door handles, are vertically oriented, emphasising the character of the vehicle, including inside.

Clean shapes in the cockpit and increased space in the front seats give the interior a modern, airy feel. The driver and front passenger enjoy noticeably improved comfort in the new MINI Countryman, with almost three centimetres of extra width in the shoulder and elbow area. The width for the rear seat occupants' shoulders has also been increased by 2.5 centimetres.

The optional panoramic sunroof makes the interior particularly bright and welcoming, with the front half of the sunroof opening. The sports seats are available in standard and JCW versions, as well as with optional electric adjustment with memory function. An optional massage function can provide additional relaxation. Between the front seats, the wide, adjustable centre armrest increases comfort.

The rear section is simple yet spacious. The rear row of seats can be adjusted along the longitudinal axis in a stroke of up to 13 cm. This provides either excellent legroom or additional space in the luggage compartment.

The backrest of the three rear seats can also be individually adjusted in six positions and at an angle of up to 12 degrees. This means that the seat can offer either reclining capability or support for an upright seating position for rear passengers. With the rear seat folded down, even bulky items can be easily carried into the luggage compartment, which has a capacity of 460 to 1,450 litres. An additional space in the floor provides convenient room for the charging accessories of the all-electric MINI Countryman. The optional towbar offers an additional practicality advantage as it has an electric folding mechanism. The towing capacity is up to 1,200 kg.

MINI Interaction Unit: the high-resolution OLED display marks a huge leap into the digital age.

The OLED centre screen sets a new benchmark with its high resolution and, for the first time, its round shape. Like the round instrument panel of the previous model, the new centre screen is the hallmark of the cabin with a completely new feel and flexible functions. As an instrument panel, the MINI Interaction Unit is a centre of experience and comfort. Thanks to MINI Operating System 9, all vehicle functions can be intuitively controlled by touch or voice control. The display in the redesigned cockpit has been moved closer to the front seat occupants for better access. The diameter of the slim touchscreen, which features a high-quality glass border, has been increased to 240 mm. Its operating logic is reminiscent of familiar smartphone models.

The modern graphic representation of the content focuses on the essentials. The top area contains relevant information related to the vehicle, such as driving speed and battery status. When the speed indicator is pressed, a large, eye-catching display shows a full-size speedometer that clearly focuses on driving. In the Home menu, other widgets are displayed in thumbnail views to the left and right of the current menu mode. These can be displayed and selected by sliding them horizontally towards the centre. In the lower area of the OLED display, the Navigation, Media, Phone and Climate) menu items can be selected directly at any time. All other functions are accessible via the menu as on a smartphone. The display returns to the default setting via the Home button.

Emotional MINI Experience Modes: for immersive driving experiences.

Optional MINI Experience Modes extend the interior experience by using a headlamp unit behind the round instrument panel. This illuminates the dashboard in different patterns and colours via special bright graphics, depending on the selected Experience Mode. The ambient lighting colours throughout the vehicle are based on the projected light patterns. In combination with the new MINI Driving Sounds in the all-electric MINI Countryman and the special graphics on the OLED display, brand fans can experience a completely different experience inside the new MINI Countryman.

The immersive user experience adds completely new personalisation options for the new MINI Countryman. In Personal Mode, for example, a selected image can be set as the screen background via the MINI App. The dominant colours of the image are then extended to the dashboard's fabric surfaces via a digital colour picker. The ambient lighting under the dashboard and in the door mirror also has a matching colour code.

Specially designed dynamic backgrounds give the different MINI Experience Modes a particularly lively appearance. The various mode options are supported by subtle light movements without distracting the driver. Each mode makes each 'Mode App', reflected in the display and the rest of the environment, the focus of attention. In Go-Kart Mode, for example, there is a dynamic focus on the MINI's racing DNA. The screen and interior as a whole adopt the charcoal and red colour scheme, while special analogue displays relating to dynamic driving complement this MINI Experience Mode, which draws inspiration from John Cooper Works. In Vivid Mode, the ambient lighting is based on the colours of the cover of the music album currently playing. Core Mode, Green Mode, Timeless Mode, Balance Mode and Personal Mode are also available for selection according to mood and personal needs. Trail Mode, which focuses on the driver's desire to explore, is unique to the MINI Countryman.

Redesigned switch bar: undoubtedly MINI.

Under the dashboard, the design of the MINI Countryman is particularly refined in appearance and influenced by the brand's heritage. The newly designed switch bar ensures that the various functions are carried out via five different selections. This allows direct access to important functions (parking brake, gear selector, start/stop button, experience mode switching, volume control). At the same time, the need for a gear selector in the centre console is eliminated, thus freeing up more storage space in the centre console.

In addition to the larger cup holders, the dashboard also includes a large open storage area under the switch bar that can accommodate mobile phones in an easy-access position and charge them at the same time. From the Favoured version and above, a storage box with matching knitted cover is also available as standard equipment.

Four new design versions for a distinctive look.

The new contemporary colour and material philosophy is also deliberately minimalist. Only modern, high-quality and environmentally friendly materials are used. The dashboard and door panels, which are covered with 2D woven fabric made of recycled polyester, create a pleasant atmosphere with special tones thanks to their two-tone colouring. Four newly designed versions embody different versions of the modern concept of well-being in the interior.

The interior of the Essential version is unpretentious with clean lines. Black sporty fabric seats with distinct multicolour patterns harmonise with a coloured fabric strip on the dashboard. Some functional components inside and out are accentuated with the new Vibrant Silver colour. On the exterior, for example, the logo appears in the new colour, creating a stark contrast with the black, octagonal grille.

From the Classic version upwards, the standard two-spoke steering wheel gives way to a new three-spoke steering wheel, in which the vertical one is made up of a fabric strap. In addition, MINI is using a modern 2D knitted fabric for the first time in the interior of a production vehicle. On the dashboard and doors, the two-tone black and blue knitted fabric offers a fascinating contrast to the high-quality synthetic leather of the seats. Available in grey and black with a perforated houndstooth pattern, the side panel contrasts with the blue fabric.

The modern, high-quality Favoured version is the most expressive. The elegant Dark Petrol finish extends from the dashboard to the door panels, where it merges with the brown knitted fabric. Luxury sports seats with traditional stitching and embroidered MINI logo are available in three colours. Perforated synthetic Vescin leather gives dark or light accents with a premium look, depending on preference. The exterior with the front grille in Vibrant Silver can be aptly combined with the new roof, also in Vibrant Silver.
The JCW version interprets the new materials philosophy in a way that places maximum emphasis on a sporty feel. The JCW seat with its sporty geometry and additional lateral support significantly improves comfort. In combination with the colourful knitted fabric and black synthetic leather with red stitching, it echoes the colour philosophy of the dashboard and door trim. A distinctive front and rear design also highlights the racing DNA of the version, with the grille and logo in gloss black underlining the strong overall impression. A Chili Red contrast colour roof and JCW-specific red or black hood stripes are available as options.

"Hey MINI!": the first MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant.

In the new MINI Countryman, numerous functions can be controlled with the brand's first integrated voice assistant. MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant is activated by the "Hey MINI" greeting or by the push-to-talk button on the steering wheel.

Interaction via voice control is carried out on the round OLED screen in the form of a graphic animation, typography and an avatar. For visualisation, users have the option to choose between "MINI" - a stylised representation of a MINI - or optionally "Spike" already familiar to many MINI fans. Communication with this virtual companion is particularly lifelike thanks to improved voice recognition. To ensure smooth communication, voice commands are transmitted directly and visualised on the display. In this way, the driver can control navigation, phone, entertainment and many other vehicle functions via voice commands.

During the dialogue with the driver, the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant constantly learns and is able to take on daily tasks on repeated routes. Using geographical data, for example, the vehicle can learn to automatically open the window when entering a parking space. As a result, daily commutes become more comfortable and personalized.

Advanced assistance systems: comfortable driving with enhanced safety.

In addition to the familiar Automatic Active Cruise Control, Steering & Lane Assistant supports lateral guidance as part of the optional Driving Assistant Plus package. The precise and responsive steering system helps the driver stay on course. The system combines easy, comfortable and excellent vehicle control, while relieving the driver of the monotonous and less demanding aspects of driving. The clear layout of displays, controls and functional features ensure a high level of safety.
The comprehensive Driving Assistant Professional options package includes a new feature that helps the driver change lanes based on Level 2 autonomous driving. Using the vehicle's sensors and other assistance systems, the assistant identifies gaps in traffic necessary for lane changes to exit and ensures that the vehicle is moving at the optimal speed for the assisted lane change.

For the first time, the MINI Countryman also offers semi-autonomous driving on motorway-like routes at speeds of up to 60 km/h. Up to this speed, the driver can take his hands off the wheel provided he continues to keep a close eye on traffic. The driver must be ready to turn and brake at any time. This function builds on the other assistance systems, taking over both longitudinal and lateral steering within the current lane.

All the options offered by the advanced driver assistance systems are visualised in real time via Assisted View on the OLED display. The fact that the vehicle control cues provided by the assistance systems are simple and easy to understand makes the new systems easier to use.

As standard equipment, a new version of Trailer Assistant helps when manoeuvring in a parking space with a trailer and offers advice on the required steering angle when reversing. In addition to the automatic parking functions and 360-degree Parking View, the new MINI Countryman is able to identify potential parking spaces more clearly thanks to 12 ultrasonic sensors and four Surround View cameras, and can also independently initiate parking procedures in a confined space. As part of the optional Parking Assistant Professional, the vehicle can be unparked autonomously via smartphone using the new Remote Parking function. If there is insufficient space on the side of the vehicle, the MINI Countryman uses this function to pull itself out of the parking space, making it easier for the driver to get on board.

The new MINI Operating System 9: modern connectivity for digital comfort.

The new design language "Charismatic Simplicity" is also reflected in the aesthetics of the user interface, which combines functional and emotional elements. The unadorned design uses brand new graphics, achieving an extremely modern look. Static and dynamic elements are naturally combined on the round OLED screen, following a clear structure. Micro-animations enhance the already highly intuitive interaction between the driver and the central instrument cluster and underline the digital character of the new MINI family.

The MINI Operating System 9 has been developed internally by the BMW Group and is based on an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) software stack. The handling is intuitive and follows the standards familiar from consumer electronics.
In the centre of the screen is the start menu, where you can select personalised content and activate it by swiping sideways. At the bottom of the screen is the fixed status bar containing the menu items "Navigation", "Media", "Telephony", "All Apps" and, depending on the status, "Home", which can be selected directly.

Swiping up from the bottom edge of the screen reveals a tool belt, something customers are familiar with from many consumer electronics devices. Preferred functions can be stored here and quickly recalled, e.g. navigation destinations and radio stations. The tool zone can also be activated via the star button on the multifunction steering wheel. The top area of the screen is reserved for driving-related content, such as the vehicle's speed and important information about its status. The optional head-up display shows the most important information for the driver in the driver's field of vision.

The air conditioning system temperature for the driver and passenger is permanently displayed on the left and right sides of the screen. The climate control settings are integrated in the MINI Interaction Unit and can always be adjusted at the top level by touch or voice command.

Depending on the selected Experience Mode, a simple tap on the speed display turns the entire MINI Interaction Unit into a standard MINI speedometer.

"The new MINI Operating System 9 features a simple, intuitive touchscreen function specifically designed for MINI. Combined with the new cloud-based MINI Navigation for highly accurate and fast route calculation, high-speed connectivity and optional 5G capability, the new MINI Countryman takes a giant leap into the digital world, underlining the brand's charismatic heritage," comments Stefanie Wurst, Head of MINI.

While driving, the complete MINI Navigation Package in combination with the optional MINI Connected Package provides support in the form of realistic 3D visualisations around complex bends, display of the current traffic situation even without route guidance activated, information on parking options including digital payment options and much more. In addition, an optional augmented reality mode is available for displaying turn-by-turn directions. For the all-electric MINI Cooper, a charging-optimised route can be calculated immediately after the destination has been entered.

In addition, MINI Connected Upgrades allow flexible booking of additional vehicle functions - simply and digitally. Combined with the optional MINI Connected Package, the MINI Connected Store provides access to an ever-evolving range of practical and entertaining applications such as games, music and video streaming. The new AirConsole app provides a unique form of in-car gaming for all passengers, making the smartphone the game controller on the OLED screen.

Electric go-kart feeling thanks to advanced drive system technology.

The new MINI Countryman combines zero-emission mobility with all-electric driving fun. The completely redesigned drive system and increased electric autonomy enable travel beyond the city limits - with two powerful electric motors and all-wheel drive. Fully electric, the vehicle is available in Countryman E trim and with increased power and all-wheel drive as Countryman SE ALL4.

The 150 kW/204 hp electric motor in the MINI Countryman E delivers 250 Nm of torque and accelerates the vehicle from standstill to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. Top speed is 170 km/h. With 230 kW/313 hp, the electric motors in the four-wheel drive MINI Countryman SE ALL4 achieve a combined torque of 494 Nm, accelerate the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and ensure a top speed of 180 km/h.*

The new MINI Countryman is also available with innovative and efficient petrol engines. It is offered as the MINI Countryman C with front-wheel drive, as the MINI Countryman S ALL4 with all-wheel drive, and as an enhanced performance model with all-wheel drive in the MINI Countryman JCW ALL4 version. The new MINI Countryman will also be available as a diesel version.
Excellent dynamic handling for a comfortable and sporty driving experience.

The slightly longer track and wheelbase form the basis for excellent dynamic behaviour. Even the basic chassis of the new MINI Countryman exudes a sporty aura with the typical go-kart feel. The standard equipment of the model includes a high-quality, precision-tuned damping system combined with high-precision preloaded anti-roll bars. The latter improve steering precision and response, while ensuring high quality when rolling the vehicle.

"Precisely tuned" means that all the components, from the axles, steering and shock absorbers to the steering and stability control systems, come together to create an exceptional experience in all situations in terms of comfortable and sporty driving. The new MINI Countryman offers a very direct steering feel with a ratio of 55 mm per one turn of the steering wheel.

The integrated braking system further contributes to the excellent dynamic behaviour and controllability of the vehicle. The confident and secure braking feel increases the dynamics and precision of the vehicle thanks to the reliable stopping ability. Combined with numerous driver assistance systems, shorter braking distances are ensured, which increases safety.

The customer can choose between a balanced and comfortable chassis configuration or a particularly sporty configuration, depending on the desired driving experience. The Adaptive Suspension, which is adjustable and 15 mm lower in height, features shock absorbers that dampen vibrations according to the frequency of oscillation and is available as an option. It operates mechanically and adapts to road conditions, offering significant added value in terms of simultaneous vehicle control. In addition, the 19 and 20-inch wheels can be combined with sports tyres to optimise the vehicle's lateral and longitudinal dynamics. The optimised 17-inch aerodynamic wheels further increase the all-electric MINI Countryman's range.

With its wheel diameter increased by 30 mm to 710 mm, the MINI Cooper has a stronger visual presence, while offering improved dynamic performance and driving comfort. In addition, the tyre tread width of the optionally available 19- and 20-inch wheels is increased by 20 mm to 245 mm respectively, emphasising the characteristic go-kart feel of the MINI models. The available wheel sizes range from 18 to 20 inches.

New MINI Experience Modes for personalised driving fun.

For the first time, MINI Experience Modes capture the brand's signature fun driving experience with digital and visual media as well. A press of the "Experiences" switch is all it takes to activate the different modes. The race-inspired GO-KART Mode highlights the MINI Countryman's agility by adjusting the suspension accordingly and giving the driving experience a particularly emotional touch.

In this mode, the headlamp unit behind the OLED centre screen also illuminates the entire interior in John Cooper Works-inspired red hues. The throttle pedal response is optimised for sporty driving. For a particularly sporty driving experience, a go-kart sound has been created that features very pronounced variations in terms of tone and volume, providing the right sonic background for agile and dynamic driving. In addition, the fun driving experience can be enhanced by adjusting the steering behaviour, as well as by specially set intervention limits for the traction control system.

Another aspect of fun MINI driving is highlighted by Green Mode. This optimises the efficiency of the drive system by optimising the throttle response to save energy and adjusting the operation of the electric motor for maximum autonomy based on various parameters. Improved management of the energy recovery system in the new MINI Countryman is one of the contributing factors by feeding excess energy to the battery when braking or rolling, thereby increasing the vehicle's range. Visualisation of the driver's personal driving style allows the driver to see how this affects the range. Efficient driving tips and the power meter increase the driver's motivation to drive economically in a fun way. For example, the driver can become aware of the effect of his driving style by gaining a so-called "autonomy bonus".

What's more, these immersive driving experiences are enhanced by an entirely new soundscape created by Digital MINI Sounds. An optional Harman Kardon Surround sound system is available for the new MINI Countryman that also offers options on the acoustic level for an intense or relaxed atmosphere through completely new driving sounds. The repertoire includes an unmistakable sound as an element of the MINI identity and jingles for the new MINI Experience Modes and 30 new sounds for information functions and warnings. These so-called earcons serve a similar purpose to icons, as they act as clearly defined symbols for certain events or information. Some 30 of these audio signals are new - from the audible accompaniment of the turn signals and seat belt warning system to the sounds of the Park Distance Control (PDC) system. This creates a kind of identity for the MINI on an acoustic level as well.

Simple and efficient battery charging.

The battery of the MINI Countryman can be charged with an AC current of 22 kW. Rapid DC charging is also possible in both all-electric models with 130 kW. This means that at a fast charging station, less than 30 minutes is enough to charge the battery from the 10% to the 80%. Depending on the weather conditions, active navigation via MINI Navigation at a fast charging station ensures that the high-voltage battery reaches the ideal temperature for efficient charging earlier. As a result, charging times can be significantly reduced, especially in low outdoor temperatures.

For a transparent and simple charging process, the customer can optimise the battery charging with easy-to-understand settings. For example, the starting time of the charge can be selected or an ideal time window for charging can be set. Also, a specific battery charge level can be set in advance. Finally, charging can be set to be completed by the selected departure time, with the air conditioning system already ensuring the desired temperature in the cabin for a pleasant start to the journey.
With the MINI App, customers have an overview of the charging process at their disposal, even remotely. The app provides details of the current battery status, a route plan optimised with charging in mind, as well as a history of charging - including all costs and savings achieved.
Future-oriented sustainable mobility thanks to the highest possible level of environmental compatibility.

The new MINI Countryman combines emission-free electric mobility with the highest possible level of environmental compatibility in production. This includes the elimination of all chrome trim on the exterior and interior, as well as the manufacture of light alloy cast wheels from secondary aluminium in up to 70%. Combined with the fact that green electricity is used for production, it has been possible to reduce CO2 emissions compared to conventional processes of this type. In addition, no rare earths are required for the production of efficient, modern permanent magnet electric motors.

The surfaces, the inside of the doors and the floor as well as the floor mats are made of recycled polyester. This high-quality, colourful and comfortable alternative to traditional materials significantly reduces CO2 emissions throughout the value chain and uses less water in production than cotton.

Efficient driving, expressive design: the new MINI Countryman C.

The unrivalled off-road character of the MINI Countryman is emphasised in the third generation of the model with a completely new exterior design. In the larger cabin, the use of innovative materials contributes to creating a comfortable atmosphere, while four new equipment versions offer a wide range of personalisation options.

Introducing the new models, MINI outlines the performance levels of its petrol engines

for the MINI Countryman with the letter C and for the more powerful variant with the letter S. A diesel version is also available. With the MINI Countryman C, the brand combines a high level of driving comfort and spaciousness with an efficient 3-cylinder petrol engine.
"As an entry-level model, the MINI Countryman C combines typical MINI features such as agility and fun to drive with a wealth of standard equipment," said Stefanie Wurst, Head of the MINI brand.

With 125 kW/170 hp, the base model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 212 km/h. With 280 Nm of torque and the efficient TwinPower Turbo technology, the vehicle has the necessary power and response for the familiar MINI fun drive. Integrated mild hybrid technology is used to recover energy during braking by boosting the internal combustion engine during acceleration with 14 kW of electric power. This reduces the consumption and emissions of the MINI Countryman C (combined fuel consumption: 6.5 - 6.1 l/100 km: 146 - 138 g/km according to WLTP).

Exterior: traditional design, impressive presence.

The new MINI Countryman is 13 centimetres longer and eight centimetres taller than its predecessor. The vertical silhouette orientation with its clean surface design and new octagonal grille contribute to the model's superior appearance. The unpretentious body design with its fine contours gives the model a touch of elegance. As a trademark of the brand, the short front ends underline the vehicle's versatility. The distinctive LED headlights and taillights accentuate the body design with optional new light signatures.

The elegant, simply designed C-pillar joins the vehicle's larger roof and is painted in the same colour. The roof rails in Piano Black are now standard equipment and maximise the transport options of the crossover model, for example with a roof rack or the MINI roof rack.

On off-road rides, the 202 mm ground clearance and dynamic frame provide additional safety and comfort. Light-alloy wheels are available for the new MINI Countryman C in various designs and diameters from 17 to 21 inches.

Interior: spacious and versatile with the typical MINI comfort.

The spacious interior of the new MINI Countryman can accommodate up to five adults. The panoramic glass roof creates a brighter interior environment with unobstructed visibility in all directions. The standard sports seats with a multicoloured fabric pattern in the cockpit provide more space for passengers thanks to an extra three centimetres of width in the shoulder and elbow area. The backrest of the three rear seats can be adjusted in six positions with an angle of up to 12° degrees. The rear seat, which can be moved along the longitudinal axis in a stroke of up to 13 cm, creates additional legroom in the rear or even more cargo space. By folding the rear seat backrest (40:20:40), luggage space can be increased from 450 litres to 1460 litres. This means that it can be easily and flexibly adapted to individual needs.

At the heart of the minimalist interior design is the 240 mm diameter round OLED screen. The new central instrument cluster with its high-quality glass surface allows comfortable and intuitive operation of all information, entertainment and driver assistance systems via touch or voice commands. MINI Experience Modes change the look of the cockpit with a combination of visual design, ambient lighting and sound patterns. All driving functions can be controlled via a MINI switch bar.

For the first time, Driving Assistant Plus offers the MINI Countryman the option of partially automated Level 2 driving on motorway-like routes. This means that the driver can let his hands off the wheel up to a speed of 60 km/h, provided he continues to keep a close eye on traffic and remains ready to intervene at any time.

Four equipment versions and more customisation options.

The version structure of the new MINI family offers a wide range of customisation options with the new Essential, Classic, Favoured and JCW variants. Depending on the equipment level, different body and roof finishes are available, as well as various interior colours. The design of the new C-pillar element changes depending on the equipment level selected.
The particularly expressive Favoured version, with its contrasting roof and front grille frame in vivid silver, adds elegant accents to the Smokey Green body colour. The 20" wheels in the aerodynamically optimised two-tone Windmill Spoke design emphasise the confident appearance of the MINI Countryman C.

Inside, a two-tone gradient adorns the fabric surface from the dashboard to the door panels. This innovative material is made from recycled polyester using a special knitting process and contributes to the comfortable atmosphere of the interior. In addition to the heated sports steering wheel, the Favoured version features perforated Vescin sports seats which are offered in three colours with traditional stitching for added emphasis.
