Alfa Romeo triumphs once again at the 1000 Miglia

With the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Zagato (1929), the Italian marque won the 40th Historic 1000 Miglia, extending its record of victories in the "World's Most Beautiful Race".

The 40ο The historic 1000 Miglia concluded with yet another triumph for Alfa Romeo, which saw the crew (Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli) of the 1929 6C 1750 SS Zagato climb to the highest podium at the finish in the city of Brescia.

The last part of the race, from Parma to Brescia, passed through places of particular importance for Alfa Romeo, such as the Varano De' Melegari circuit and the Monza circuit. Passing through the places where the passion for motor racing in Italy was gigantic, the return to Lombardy and the finish in Brescia completed another historic moment for Alfa Romeo. As every year, both on the route and at the finish of the 1000 Miglia, thousands of people applauded the efforts of people and machines that keep the magic of the car unchanged. Next to these jewels of motoring was the new Alfa Romeo Tonale, catching the eyes of the public with its dynamic design. Being the model with which the brand's transformation into the new electrified era begins, the Tonale applies innovative technologies while keeping the original Alfa Romeo DNA unchanged.

Alfa Romeo is the most successful manufacturer in the history of the 1000 Miglia, the "most beautiful race in the world", as Enzo Ferrari said. From 1927 when the first 1000 Miglia was held until 1957 when it was completed for the last year in its classic version, Alfa Romeo won 11 victories, a record that will forever remain unassailable. Similarly, in the historic version of the race that began in 1977, Alfa Romeo has won 12 victories (including this year's), making it the most successful brand in this version too. Since 2016, Alfa Romeo has maintained a winning streak of seven victories, five of which have been in the 6C 1750 SS Zagato, winner of this year's race as well.
