Η DS AUTOMOBILES who won both titles in the Championships of the 5th and 6th season, is ready to compete in the last two matches of the 7th season of the FIA Formula E World Championship which will be held at the Berlin circuit - Templehof - on 14 and 15 August. As last year, the German capital will host the grand final of the 100% Electricity Formula, on a 2.3-kilometre track where the 24 drivers will compete, who on Sunday will be called upon to face the difficulties of the track in reverse compared to Saturday's race.
The prospect of this process is in the interest of DS AUTOMOBILES! "It reminds us of the end of last season during which we had six races on the same track, where they were done with the same procedure, using both of its "folds". We managed to win both titles and that is clearly the goal we will be fighting for again this year!", says Thomas Chevaucher, Director of DS Performance.
After a season full of excellent results (5 podium finishes, including 2 wins), the defending champion, António Félix Da Costa and the Jean-Eric Vergne, so far the only two-time Formula E champion, are ready to take up the challenge against the most established manufacturers in the championship and fight for two more titles for the DS Automobiles. Ranked 5th and 12th respectively in the drivers' standings, they have a very good chance of winning the title. Competition is fierce and the points gap from the top is so small (15 for A. Félix Da Costa and 27 for J.-E. Vergne) that anything can happen, given that victory is rewarded with 25 points. Thanks to the performance of the two DS E-TENSE FE21, the title of the teams remains one of the objectives of the DS
Automobiles, which is only 17 points behind the leader in the standings.
Aware of the capabilities of the four-time crowned team, Thomas Chevaucher is confident for the last two decisive matches: "We are very close in terms of points! Of course we will need victories to win the title, but good luck is something we make ourselves! One thing is for sure: only the best can triumph... and we will do everything we can to be the best!"
The two races of the Berlin E-Prix will be held on Saturday 14 August (15:00 CET) and Sunday 15 August 2021 (16:30 CET).
