What would it be like if you threw 6.2 litre V8 of the Dodge Challenger Hellcat in another car? Hell of a question. Well, that's the question a reporter asked CEO of Jeep, Mike Manley, during the Detroit auto show. And, in place of the "other car", he put the... Cherokee.
Manley's response was impressive: "Not only can I put a Hellcat motor in one (Crand Cherokee) for you, but I'll have it on the market by the end of 2017“.
So far -minimal- information beyond the official production confirmation of the GC Hellcat, says that the Grand Cherokee wearing the Hemi engine of the Hellcat with 707 hp will be called Trackhawk and that its tests so far have shown that - due to its all-wheel drive - it is very faster than both the Charger SRT Hellcat and the Challenger SRT Hellcat. If the rumours from the FCA about 3.5 seconds acceleration to 100 km/h from a standstill are confirmed, perhaps in 2017 we will be talking about the fastest SUV on the planet…
