Why does the Type-R have three exhausts?

H Honda brought the new Civic Type-R and in Greece, presented it and, by common consent, it is the best Type-R ever made. This is also the case with three, fully functional terminals, which are placed in the centre of the rear diffuser. But how do they work? The endings on each side release the exhaust fumes, while the home End of controls the sound of the engine. Η flow of exhaust gases has been increased through the export against 10% compared to the previous Type R, which reduces the return pressure within the system. To produce more dynamic sound during acceleration, the central terminal works as another export stream, resulting in 2dB increase compared to the previous model at the same speeds.
