Final tests of the next-generation Audi Q5 - Big changes spotted inside and out!

The Audi Q5 third generation has been in development testing since March. The latest spy shots obtained by Motor1.com are the best so far and reveal features from the fully redesigned luxury crossover. Featuring the final production body still covered in heavy camouflage, the test prototype appears to hide a design influenced by the latest electric vehicles bearing the legendary rings. The dual exhaust tips make it clear that we're dealing with a prototype powered by an internal combustion engine.

This is the last Q5 to be launched with thermal engines, as the German brand will only launch electric vehicles from 2026. Although the prototype carries the production body and finished headlights, the taillights have a temporary layout. We get the impression that Audi will use an LED bar that will extend across the entire trunk door. Speaking of which, the Q5's distinctive tailgate will be replaced by a narrower panel.

Another prototype spotted next to the current Q5 leads us to believe that the next-generation vehicle will be a little lower.  

However, the height difference may come from a stiffer suspension setup for the next-generation Q5. It could be an S-Line version, which would explain the red brake calipers. The other test vehicle caught on the road had surprisingly large exhaust tips.

Some of the spy shots allow a glimpse inside the fully redesigned cabin with a tablet-like infotainment system protruding from the center console.  

There's an unusually large Quattro logo positioned below the touchscreen and we notice some physical buttons in front of the red emergency button. Like the large screen, the driver's digital instrument panel isn't integrated into the dashboard either, as it protrudes. Overall, the dashboard layout is common with the next-generation A4.
