How much tougher can a Jeep Gladiator get?

Η Jeep with the Gladiator made an emphatic return to pick-ups. Powered by the most powerful engine in the class, a 3 litre V6 engine, with 264bhp, top off-road performance and dynamic styling enhanced by the unique ability to remove and fold down body panels such as doors, roof and windscreen, the Gladiator is the perfect expression of Jeep's adventurous nature.

Although the Gladiator already stands out for its rugged construction, Jeep Performance Parts goes one step further, further shielding the car's durability in harsh conditions with the option of a Gorilla Glass windshield. The concept was first shown on the Wrangler Orange Peelz prototype last March during the Easter Jeep Safari in the U.S., and now this innovative concept is making its way to production.

Gorilla Glass is a highly durable glass manufactured by the American company Corning. It was originally designed to protect the screens of electronic devices such as mobile phones and tablets, offering low weight, the ability to transfer commands via touch, and high levels of resistance to breakage and damage from scratching.

The new Gorilla Glass windscreen uses the same Corning technology. In Jeep's case, an ultra-thin inner layer was applied to the windshield and an outer layer with a thickness increased by 52%. The result is a set that is extremely lightweight and durable, while offering top-notch resistance to cracks and stone chips that the rugged Gladiator may encounter on off-road trails.

This new feature is expected to be available as an option on new Gladiators in the near future, but also as a replacement for existing owners who want to equip their vehicle with the Gorilla Glass windscreen. The technology is fully compatible with the cameras and sensors located behind the windscreen, ensuring the smooth operation of all relevant electronic comfort and safety systems.

The Jeep Gladiator is available in the Greek market with prices starting from 56,100 euros, and is covered by a 4-year factory warranty with a maximum of 160,000km and a corresponding duration of roadside assistance service. Being a benchmark for body styling freedom, it offers unlimited personalisation options, which include accessories, trim elements and even frameless and low-height doors for better visibility on off-road routes and a greater sense of freedom. The relevant modifications can be carried out in a short time by the user simply by using the handy tool kit that comes with every Gladiator.
