  "The Jeep was one of the three decisive
importance of US weapons at 2^ο P.P.". The above quote from President Eisenhower
emphatically notes the importance of the vehicle which, among other things
was the starting point of the legendary brand that soon became synonymous with
civilian vehicles 4x4 and then the SUV. Durable, reliable and effective as long as
none other, the Jeep Willys, was particularly loved by the Allied troops
who used it in every possible way. From the coast of Normandy and
the deserts of B. Africa, to the snow-covered Alps and the swamps of the
Pacific Islands. The start of production of the Willys MB with the 60 hp engine and of course the all-wheel drive
marked a new era for military operations. Later with the
expiry of the 2^th World War II, in 1945, the Jeep would now offer his virtues for peaceful purposes, with the CJ (Civilian Jeep) to be the first
mass-produced four-wheel drive vehicle for civilian use in the world.

 

 

 

  The success of the Willys in each field that
was found, in addition to the intelligent design and the ability to produce large
number of vehicles from the U.S.A. is also due to the exhaustive testing that
passed the vehicle before it was used by the Allies. The footage from the
tests cause admiration even by today's standards, with the Willys to pass with full load from very poor
quality routes and the driver not to reduce the speed to a minimum
of the vehicle. The durability and robustness with the name Jeep continue to be a symbol of freedom
